Monomad Pebbles

Black and White Pebbles

This collection of pebbles I found on Hove beach is somewhat unusual.

Most of the shingle here is brown from the flint or there are the white ones which are chalk.

These grey ones are less common so it was a surprise to see so many all gathered in one place. It looked natural too and not like someone had put them there for effect.

I'm not sure what type of stone they are despite having searched on google for them. They appear to have some sort of crystal band which is what drew my attention in the first place.

The white lines are what really make the photograph I think.

Any geologists amongst you who know what type of rock this is? 😂

I'd also like to know what your pretty rocks are!
I find similar ones on our beaches :-)
There are some nice folks over @mountainwashere's
identification thread who might be able to tell you 💎 @snowyknight might know also, we have both
posted some things that others found the names of.

Thank you for the information @shasta.

Hopefully your tags will bring @mountainwashere and @snowyknight over here and they will be able to help. 😊

The circles and intersecting lines look almost as if someone scratched them into the stones. It certainly does add interest to the image :-)

I thought so @fotosdenada. Glad you agree. 😁
