One of the world's most beautiful waterfalls- The Jog Falls

Yes, this is India's tallest and one of the world's most beautiful waterfalls... Jog Falls.

A quick thought came in my mind, so me and my husband decided to go to Jog Falls, one of the most beautiful and a must visit location, especially in the rainy season.
Though we both love driving, we preferred to go by an air conditioned bus arranged by a local tourism agency for our one day trip.

Now let's talk about this beautiful Jog Falls.

It is located about 140 miles from Mangalore. We have to head north on the national highway to reach Bhatkal(about 95miles). Then we have to take a right turn and have to travel on a state highway (45 miles) in the north east direction.
Till Bhatkal, the highway is good, but after that it is a single lane and narrow road, without mobile reach. This 45 miles drive goes through the thick forest of western ghats section, and throughout our journey till we reach back this small city Bhatkal, we remain out of reach for any communication. (This is the reason we preferred not to drive and to go by a tourist bus. Even on top area, the view point of the water falls, our mobile phones remained out of range.)

Now because of global warming everywhere, even in our country the quantity of rain fall is decreasing slowly, and last year there was no enough water in the fall even in the rainy season. But this year we have had a bit good rainy season, and it is worth seeing it (even though it is not in full bloom).
The hight of the falls is 830 feet (approximate), and it's spread over a width of 1550 feet, in four streams by name RAJA, (extreme left) RAANI(extreme right) in between are seen roarer and rocket... The name of the river originating this water fall is Sharavati...

Jog falls is located on the border of Sagar and Uttarkannada districts of our State - Karnataka, and a must visit place in India, especially after the rainy season.
The beautiful clouds slowly coming down from sky, changing into thick Fog , then melting or disappearing blows our mind... Am really not getting proper good words to explain!!!
We must experience this personally... That's all..
Am loading some more pics, with a word of welcome to you all to see this beautiful place once in your life...

@geetharao the photos of the waterfalls remind me very much of a trip I took to Yellowstone National Park here in the United States. My brother and I hiked down a trail through the mountains to check out the Crystal Falls in the Yellowstone Grand Canyon. Absolutely amazing.
