Jeera Rice - South Indian Way!
Hi Friends... I am here with another food item today!
It's 'Jeera Rice' in the typical South Indian way using Coconut oil, which is much good for health when compared to other refined oils we get in the market nowadays.
For serving - 2.
Make rice using 250 grams of either Basmati or any good quality of white rice, using a pressure cooker.
Let it cool.
Now take a fry pan and heat 2 Table spoons of coconut oil. Add one big chopped onion, one green chilly (sliced), one table spoon full of grated Coconut, and one table spoon jeera or cumin seeds and keep stirring for 2 to 3 minutes. Now add few drops of lemon juice, salt for taste and add the pre cooked rice and mix well. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. We can also use Amchur powder instead of lemon juice, which makes this rice more tasty!...
The yummy tasty Jeera Rice is ready to serve!
We can have it as it is or with a curry of our choice. This tastes good with both vegetarian dishes, and with paneer items or with fish curries. I just love to have it with curd or butter milk along with a little Mango pickle!;).
Try this yourself and lemme know the comments please...
With much love, @geetharao...
