So what i have learned, i need your thoughts
So if you follow me you know i try my hand at a little bit of silver pouring.
I have only just found out why my pours come out a little dull, compared to other peoples stuff and i had always put it down to it being 0.925 silver but now i realise i should have been using borax and a graphite rod and a blow torch on my molds when pouring.
So with that said i am going to melt everything i have poured previously and have another go but the real question is, what do i make?
- A large 12oz bar
- Or several smaller bars
I wont be able to do this for 2 weeks but i would love your thoughts, the bars wont be for sale and are for my own personal satisfaction.
I would like to see the large 12oz bar.
Well lets put it to a vote.
when pouring 925 you also have a lot of fire scale that is best removed by putting the metal into a pickle solution to remove it, then a lot of polishing after that. the pour is a very small part. we would like to see some smaller pieces, a big bar is fun to pour and hold but the smaller pieces are cool to see the differences. there are many ways to remove the fire scale and here is a easy explanation on the pickle from common items you will have in your home
