Powering Down

I have decided to power down all the Steem I have, I will never be able to reach much beyond what I have now, not making 1 SBD a day, so I will just take out all I have and see what I can make on a daily basis with whatever votes I can garner. Better said I am about giving up, I see no future here, 1 dollar a day doesn't even pay for my internet connection, and I know you will say " How much do you make on Facebook or any other social network?"

The answer is nothing, but I write nothing there so I also lose no time there I only log on to Facebook when I need to chat with someone whom I can't use Whats app with, so actually I neither gain or lose anything there. Here on Steemit I actually have to think about what I am going to post, so it is more like a job, a really low paying job. You know sometimes I have walked for hours to take pictures to post here so I am actually making pennies per hour here, not worth it.

Yes some people are making a nice amount of money on Steemit, more power to them, as I said I am not running away but I sure am going to stop posting on a daily basis and my up vote unfortunately in a few weeks will be worth nothing.

I have tried to write some good articles, but apparently I am not a good enough writer, up votes are impossible to come by, these are all either in the form of bot up votes or most of them go to the trending posters who are always the same. Is this a rant? Not actually I knew about how this worked since the day I started but things have gotten out of hand and when bots rule humans have to step aside.

I have actually made contact with a few nice people here, so as I said I am not leaving just won't be posting so much. But I have noticed I comment on a lot of articles and practically nobody answers so nearly all interaction is gone.

how is that possible?
remember the old saying...the middle of the road is where you find road kill, and fence straddling is dangerous to your gonads..

Does the steem power you receive during a powering down process also get redeemed? Or do you have to wait for a following power down in order to redeem them?

Hi @gduran, I'm not going to upvote you because I don't like this post! (Also my voting power is super low right now c:) I'm here to fight you, and maybe give you a hug, as I reveal to you why you should stay on Steemit!

I've been on the site twice as long as you, and I don't even have 300 followers yet. I also only have about 400 posts/comments total, and my account is worth less than yours...

But I would never think of powering down. I recently went through a writer's block phase just like you are going through now. I've emerged with my experience, that I genuinely hope can help shed light on the situation.

For a few weeks my posts all suffered. When I did not hit a dollar or spent days working on a post that barely broke 1. I was caught up in building my niche. Although I started to heavily categorize my posts, I wasn't having fun anymore- so what the fuck was I thinking? I promise that if you do what I write next, you are going to be doing better in your posts, don't give in just yet.

Write about the things you really really like and don't think about the rewards. Don't write something because you think it will be popular. Write about what lights your soul up even if you don't think people will understand. Help them understand!

I learned that I can write anything I want and if someone really likes it too, I have a genuine connection with a reader. Always try to write your best and think about how you would feel if it wasn't a post from you but someone else.

  1. Write what you like, not what you should write.

  2. The more passion you show in your work, the more passion they'll see in your work.

  3. Go to other people's posts and comment full-heartedly. It shows you read their whole article. They will want to engage more often.

Remember when you had strived to hit 57? That's one small success on your path to succeed on Steemit. Failing is another way to learn how to succeed and I know you can do it. The work that you've put in already, shown me you are capable.

I know the ideas will come to you, keep going!! I look forward to you posts and I'm sure that others do too.

@shello, thanks for your words, but you are making a mistake I joined in August 2016 you just joined this year, so you can't have twice as much time as I.

oh no! I'm sorry @gduran, I am mistaken :c This means that you used Steemit for a whole year. That is a lot of time, I hope that the next thing you do makes you happier c: !

Take care
@shello

destroy all bots...they are the death of social media.
