Beautiful Mantis
Hello Steemers!
Today I wanted to share some photos I took of a big praying mantis we saw in the garden! She crawled up the beam and posed wonderfully for me. She definitely spotted us and she was wary when our cat came along but thankfully she stuck around long enough for me to get my camera out!
Photos taken with my Canon 60D.

What a beauty! Who could resist those eyes in the first shot? So nice of her to stop and pose.

Thanks for your comment @samanthajbarnes :)
You're very welcome.
Es una foto espectacular, espero te haya revelado los secretos del futuro y porque se come la cabeza del mantis macho 😍
Muchas gracias @marpa! Es verdad que se la come. Que fuerte es la tia!! jaja
oh my goodness that first one with the look over the shoulder, I swear he's modeling! 😂
Throughout the time I spent photographing her she gave me a few different looks, by the end she was done with the paparazzi and she sassily ambled off like the queen she is!
bahahaha- yaaaaas!

WOW really beautiful shots of this fabulous preying mantis!

Super photos.
Which lens you use ?
Thanks @achrafbenz, I used my Sigma 28-80mm on macro!
Mantis is an order of insects if I'm not wrong . Anyway, the pictures are really great and it's great too that how the grasshopper showed her patience and allowed you to click photos. These tiny lill creatures are so adorable and cute. They are the ones that makes this world what we call "a beautiful one"... Thanks for sharing the photos. Hope to see more from you and STEEM ON!!
Thank you for your thoughtful comment @aman.shady! The mantis was very patient with me and stayed there for about 10 minutes, giving me just enough time to get some good photos. I saw her because she was actually one of the biggest praying mantis I have seen, her body was the size of a large hand!!
Oh wow!! I haven't seen that big mantis in my entire life.... That's amazing....
I know, she's the biggest one I have seen so far! Really cool :)
It is indeed. ;-) ;-)
They used to give me the creeps when i was a little boy... Hehehe

Really?? I have always found them to be really peaceful, unlike spiders which praying mantis' will happily eat :D
I love praying mantises and I love this photograph. The wood really compliments the darker mantis hue: in my country(South Africa) praying mantises are far greener.
Thank you @charlesmackenzie! I thought the same about the wood - I was lucky she posed there!
Here in Spain I am lucky to see both this type and the brighter green ones I think you may be referring to :)
