Psychedelic Garage Rock! Down By The River - For What It's Worth - Mashup by Majic Ship!

Here is a very Long Song by a group of guys who played around New York City and Long Island in the late 1960s, and put out one album in 1970. It's a mash up or medley of 2 popular tunes from the 60s and it runs for almost 11 minutes.

Down By The River was originally done by Neil Young and Crazy Horse in 1969. This murder ballad about a man who "shot my lady" when he was "down by the river" was over 9 minutes long, on the album version.

This mash up by Majic Ship reaches about the 9 minute mark when it seemlessly switches to For What It's Worth originally by Buffalo Springfield in 1967. This is a protest song, where you are urged to "stop, hey, what's that sound, everybody look what's going down!"

The Majic Ship produced some tasty guitar rock licks from this union. The vocals don't even kick in for 2 and a half minutes. We have a lead guitar that some might label as acid rock, along with rhythm guitar, organ, bass and drums. The pace is mid tempo and there are long stretches of guitar breaks both at the beginning and then again in the middle. The first guitar segment is rather mellow while the second is more aggressive.
