So long Dumaguete, I will see you again

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

As much as I wanted to share my journey with you from day one to the last day of our family vacation in Siquijor and Dumaguete, I cannot. I wanted to spend long hours writing of how magnificent the different places that I had been but my body would not cooperate.

On my previous post found here , I pleaded for everyone to pray for me because I was not feeling alright.

I am recuperating right now from an undiagnosed illness since I was not able to visit the hospital awhile ago. It pains me to move a bit, how much more when I try to wait an endless line of patients in the hospital.

Right now I am just lying on my bed and contemplating on some things about my life. Awhile ago, I was also busy sorting photos on different albums on my phone. I decided to make videos of the short videos I took from my phone so that whenever I have gained enough strength, I will certainly write a full-blown article.

Write now, I will just share to you my thoughts on our travel back home [and a part of when I travel to Dumaguete six days ago].

So long Dumaguete, I will surely see you again!

Video was taken from my youtube account.

I felt a bit sad when my boyfriend send my family and I at the airport. I wanted it to be video recorded but it would seem so cheesy. Others might not take it! HA HA!

I really hugged him tight the moment he went back to the airport because he forgot to hand me the macarons that her mom made. I swear guys, it is really delicious. I might share it to others if by chance I have some with me and there would be steemit meetups nearby.

I did not hesitate to kiss him on the cheeks, forehead, and lips multiple times before I left his car and went back to the pre-departure area.

My love, I know this will be temporary. I know we will be in each other's arms soon and we nothing can ever come between us.

I wanted to cry but I cried hard when we were still in Siquijor. I remember it was a gloomy evening and I really hugged him tight. I honestly begged at him that we should get married as soon as possible and not wait until we are in our 30s. That sucks a lot!

The moment I was back inside the airport, reality slapped me. I need to go back home. I need to start writing again. I need to inspire as much people as possible. I need to earn hard for my family and for my future.

The airport was actually not as busy as other airports. It was actually a small one but everything is in order. The attendant on the checking area was very accomodating. We had a problem with our luggage.

Tip No. 1: Make sure you weighed your stuff before heading to the airport. If you have not, you may pay a huge amount for it.

Tip No. 2: If you think your baggage has exceeded the allowable amount, better pay for it in advance.

Tip No. 3: If you travel in groups or not, you can mix your luggage with other people. Chances are a lot of people travelling are travelling lite.

Our baggage for check in 15.1kg. The allowable amount is just 15kg but the personnel was very considerate. He also told us to split the huge baggage that we have for check in instead of dumping it into one bag because the personnel on the departure area would fine us. We are just so glad that the personnel was indeed helpful.

Tip No. 4: Pray hard you would not end up on a flight with a kid who throws tantrums.

To other people, being up in the air is stressful and it is more stressful when you fly with a kid who throws tantrums. It is painful for the ears when you hear a child cry and scream gibberish words. I experienced one time during our flight to Singapore. Glad the mom was able to hush her toddler.

I criss-crossed my fingers when a child was starting to cry at the pre-departure area. I joke at some of the passengers around and said that I hope that kid would not be on the same flight as ours. But unfortunately, he was.

And the rest of the flight was history.

Kidding aside, I am glad his dad bought him the food that he has been wanting to eat. It looked like the kid was just pretty hungry.

I wanted the time to stop and go back to the days that Kenneth and I spent together.

I looked at the plane that would send me back home and it felt very nostalgic. I could not determine why but there is also a magic while looking at it.

The propellers were big and I was hoping that they would take me home all in one piece. As much as I hate riding planes, I also hate travelling on land and on sea.

We remained inside the aircraft for few minutes before it started flying up in the air. The crew were demonstrated us what to do and what not do. I have seen these demonstrations multiple times but I find it important to remind myself on these things.

Up, up in the air!

The moment I felt the plane rising up in the air, a felt a spark of hope that I will be visiting this [Dumaguete City] wonderful place again and again.

How to kill time?

I really wanted to eat. I was hungry. Although we ate at Robinsons in Dumaguete, I had no appetite because I was not feeling alright.

I checked on the brochure near our seat. I read it again although I have read it multiple times on my previous flights last year. I was just hoping that some of the food prices reduced or that they introduced new meals.

My brother and I wanted to order the bagel but our mom (Dahlia of @alfredotongco) said no. The trip would just be less than an hour and we can opt to eat inside the airport. We were dismayed.

Since my brother was so busy watching saved videos from youtube, I just spent my time looking down on the Almighty's creations. I was so amazed how wonderful the landscape of Siquijor has. The pristine white sand is very visible as it outlined some portion of this province.

Gail, we are almost there!

I felt sleepy so I snoozed. I was still not feeling well though. Few minutes after, we were about to take off.

It made me excited. I love Negros Oriental because Kenneth resides there and it is a wonderful place, but nothing beats home.

I miss the traffic jams. I missed the malls. I miss our home. And above all, I miss my dogs.

I could not wait to get home and hug Sky and Sunny tight.

Did you also had discomforts on some of your travels? What happened to you then and how did you overcome it? Comment down below if you want to share your experience.

Have a great Chooseday (Tuesday) ahead! Love you.

Hi @gailbelga! I'm no stranger to discomforts in travelling. There're a lot of stories you don't get to see in travel posts and photos. Your post is honest, it didn't shy away from exposing what people sometimes don't say. I hope you'll get well soon :)

Hi Gail. Thank you so much for noticing it. 😍

Nice post buddy !!!

When we went to Palawan (my first time flying) I lost my legit Loki keychain in the airport and my 2 swiss knives were confiscated. Bummer.

Oh I see. Swiss knives are really not allowed in the airport but that is really a bummer.

getting married at 30! :)

that's a goal @gailbelga. and yeah! LDR sucks! hahahah. but it's all worth it. ^^ Keep the fire!

Oh no. I dont want to reach that age. Hahaha.

I feel you sis! Those travels can be quite uncomfy especially when there are dark clouds ahead and the turbulence is just so super! lol.

Katakot naman talaga. ^^

No turbulence naman just a bit health issue hehe

ahahha it's still worrisome sis. Better get yourself checked. ^^

Sige sis. Panay ako alaxan fr lately. Masama daw yun sa digestive tract. Sana maging okay nako. Mahal pa naman magkasakit.
