Short Stories - Fox Tales #39

Entry 1

She flipped her hands again, they were stacked under her chin, the numbing sensation in her little finger had become painful. Her chin rested lightly on her fresh hand. The blank paper in front of her screamed betrayal, she hadn't picked up her pen once during the hour. The teacher finished her spiel about homework as the rest of the class filed out. She took a deep breathe, her hands wobbling from the movement. She was going to tell somebody.

Entry 2

He watched as she sunk her head onto her hands, her shoulders slouching. A few hairs fell into her face and she pushed them back. He imagined running his hands through it, smelling it. She turned slightly and he saw the colour of her eyes, deep brown, to match her hair. His eyes followed the curves of her face, soft eyebrows, flushed cheeks, small nose and tasty lips. A cup was placed in front of her, pulling her from her posture and him from his fantasy.

Entry 3

Kate watched as her mum stood by the cooker, stirring dinner and moving her hips to music. Her mum hummed along to the radio as she threw some spices into the pot and continued to stir. Kate smiled, inhaling the aroma filling the small room. She leant against the back of the sofa, her head falling onto her hands, her knees folded under her. Her mum twirled as she spun in time with the beat. Kate bobbed her head as a giggle escaped her lips. Today was a good day.
