While out walking the homestead today I found the blackberries are just about to turn. The ones that have already turned were bitter. They will be worth the wait.

I used to walk home from school with my friend and he'd pick the red ones and I'd eat the black ones; not so much these days though...
They are all around us here. I figure another week and we will be able to collect enough to make anything!

Ours have begun here in Ohio. We've picked a total of 3 quarts in the past two days. Usually we make about 20 pints of jelly each year.
That is alot of jelly! We love blackberries. I was thinking about trying to make blackberry wine this year.
