Why everyone is AFRAID of Millenials

in #dtube5 years ago

Ok ok ...so the title may be a bit of click bait...BUT I am going to get into why we are becoming so afraid. It would seem that most adults are becoming more afraid to actually be themselves because of social shaming. With this social shaming comes the aspect of effecting our money.

It is almost the year 2020 and it seem that people are more afraid of other people than I can ever remember. Afraid of confrontation. Afraid of honesty. Afraid of jokes. Afraid of social shaming. Afraid of losing what they have.

When it comes to our money and lively hood it would seem that we would do anything to protect it. We will act, speak, dress or even do whatever makes certain people feel good. We will change who we are to fit a situation if we feel it will protect what we have.

This goes beyond just work. We see this in churches, business, friend groups. The idea that if some how someone gets offended that it will come back to the bottom line.

It is incredible when I see this. We are so used to bending ourselves to make others comfortable that we can't even share our real selves for fear of being an outcast. So there is the aspect of being the only genuine person in a group...which would lead to being the outcast.

It seems that everyone is so afraid to be who they really are. It seems lile the confident majority are bending for the insecure minority, and changing the very fabric of reality.

I don't believe that we should ever change who we are for any reason...popularity or money for sure. We should not seek validation from anyone to be who we are. We should be free to be or say whatever we want. The hard line in the sand is physical contact. You can't measure someone's hurt feelings, but you can measure a physical attack.

So with all of that being said. Be yourself. Be kind. Say what you think. Don't touch anyone. Haha seems like those should written on a plaque right next to the saying...Do no harm, but take no scrap.

Be well

Unlit we become aware of ourselves, we can't life the fullest.
What others think doesn't matter if we have the power to define our activities. That's what I believe.
You pointed out it very correctly.
Thanks 😊

My wife is a social media manager here in Germany for some larger firms and some of the fights that break out on their posts are just insane. I feel like everyone these days is entitled to be offended. When I grew up my parents always told me if something or someone bothered me it was my problem, no one else. I don't know how we became responsible for everyone else emotions. Positive attitude and kindness go a lot further than poor me, someone offended me.

I can only imagine the things that your wife would have to sort out. I like that persective of if something offends us it is our problem. If we get offended...we can always just look/click away. Be well
