in #gaming7 years ago

You’ve got to get with the flow if you want to know what flow is. Or you could just watch this episode of The Gaming Codex and discern the mysteries of the ever elusive concept of flow. Not to be confused with flan.

This might as well be one of the most interesting topics you've dealt with so far. Honestly, I had a ton of questions for you while I was watching the video, but in the end you answered pretty much all of them when you spoke about "fake" flow and that sense of immersion that some games give you that's not really flow. I was actually thinking that sometimes plot or activities that are not skill-based and challenge-based can make you lose the sense of time, but again, you addressed this.
The challenge\skill diagram was actually mind blowing. Nice one!

Flow is maybe the most important things to make a game successful but it's also the cause for addiction and forgetting to the duties you have to during the day. Never the less i love diving deep into fantastic world of a game esp. when its beautiful and the overall atmosphere is triggering my braincenter for aesthetics, if then a riddle or an enemy is undefeatable it could make me really emotional in different ways.

Nice, I love your post
