Al-Maidah (5:32): Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And Our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry has issued a legal position paper urging all countries to cease providing assistance to Israel, considering them "complicit" in Israel's "unlawful occupation" of Palestinian territory.

The commission emphasizes that Israel's actions in Gaza and the West Bank could amount to war crimes and even genocide, and all states have an obligation to prevent these atrocities.

The commission calls on the international community to hold Israel accountable for its actions and urges the UN Security Council to take action, calling out the US veto power as a barrier to justice.
