The Discrepancy Spotted in Diary Game Entries - Can We make things Better?

The diary game is one of the most unique and original content shared on Steemit. They contain the richness of one's day to open the chance for incentivization and most importantly, documenting your day in such a way that it can be visited in the future to get some details. Unfortunately, a huge discrepancy was spotted but can we make it better?

Diary game is inarguably one of the cleanest article types users write on the platform. We can't take "My Town in Ten Pictures" away from the picture, this is another great article type, and the Diary game must have been on the same level with it, But! A dent had been spotted in diary game entries.

I have been very attentive to every detail on the platform, that's because I love Steemit and projects that would add value to the platform. I could hardly keep my mouth shut when I spot irregularities. Well, I learned to manage those that could cause chaos in the ecosystem and report the issue to the right authority within to take necessary steps.

And now, I found an irregularity in diary game entries and this is a discrepancy between the presented diary article on the platform and the reality of our actual diaries.

I have had the opportunity to check up to 50 diary game entries in the previous week and the gap between reality and the diaries presented is very huge. Let's see some highlights of my observation on this case.

• The activities of many users don't correspond with the diary game entry they presented. Fact!

• A diary game entry meant for the 28/10/2022 but has pictures from many days earlier (say 01/10, 15/10, 16/10, 17/10...) even from previous months/years, yes, Years! Can you spot the discrepancy? This means the activities are not the genuine ones they are involved in for the day.

• Some diary game entries are nothing but desperation to get rewards. Some of the users wants to enter a diary game every day and earn which led them to bring pictures from several days and present them for their main day.

• Hence, most entries lack originality in terms of the day of the diary.

It would be harsh to mark a user's day an invalid due to originality complications, Nah! It's their original work with a lack of truthfulness that dents the sweet diary game. I have done my best to address the issue during my moderator work and some of the ways I utilized are;

• Highlighting in some reviews that users have not presented his/her diary game entry based on the day it was attached to. I spend reasonable time verifying the claims before leaving such comments.

• A few users admitted that they have included activities that are not recent and takes correction.

• If you are in a category that thinks you should score more than you did. I'm sorry, your diary game entry has some elements of ingenuity. Many top users were victims of this.

As much as other articles we present on the platform are original even the diary game deserves more truthfulness. A dent like the one highlighted in this piece must have been one of the reasons some users felt the diary game is not genuine.

Well, I don't accept such assumptions, diary game remains genuine, only that a few users are just desperate for rewards, then they present articles that lack truthfulness. It can affect the general if things like this continue especially with first-time visitors spotting the discrepancy. Let's do our part to make it better and what are some of the ways?

• Writing a diary game article every day shouldn't be born out of desperation, it makes one bring some elements of ingenuity especially when you have not been involved in many productive things for the day.

• Ensure all activities presented in your diary game entries corresponds to the day the diary was attached to.

• Enlighten your community to ensure that diary game articles are not meant to be played with, it deserves to be 100% genuine.

As it stands, My Town in Ten Pictures tends to have overtaken The Diary Game when it comes to originality/truthfulness, although, it consumes more time and resources going around taking pictures, yet pictures from different days of the week can still be utilized in one article for "My Town in Ten Pictures".

Using pictures from different days in a diary game entry tends to become nothing but weekly/monthly diary and I don't think we have such article types yet. I think I may have to buy a professional camera that brings more creativity to my town in ten pics, lol.

In conclusion, the Diary game is a very rich and genuine type of content on Steemit as such it deserves we preserve value for it. It's our collective effort to do this, present genuine entries about your day, and enlighten your community about it. Let's add more richness to the diary game on Steemit. Thank you.
