We all need water.
For our water source and supply. We have a drilled well. While it is a very good source for water.
It has many unwanted characteristics in it that no one likes. Iron or rust being one of them.
So we have to use a water purifier to clean it up for us.
Photo above is from "Pixabay"

We use the Kinetico system for that purpose. It does work very well for us too.
Other water systems may be OK. But for us. This is what we have.
But I do have to change the water filter every 4-6 weeks.
I do that to keep the system working for us as it should.

The reason for the outside water filter is to clean the water first. Before it enter into our water system
If you have a supply of water from the water companies. You shouldn't need the outside water filter.

I have removed the filter case and this is what we see. A very dirty water filter. Ugh on that.
20171124_104809.jpg

So I replaced it with a new clean one. That makes me feel so much better to see that. lol
20171124_105106.jpg

When I was at the Kinetico store. They told me that what I wanted was 25 percent off the regular price. You know me. I like bargains. Ha
20171124_102636.jpg
So I purchased two of each instead of one. And I may go back before the sale is over and buy more.

The system uses salt to help purify our water. So I keep a good supply of salt in the salt container.

That finishes the care of our water system for the next month. Through the holidays.
Good water is essential for our lives. Bad water is not healthy for us.

We have additional filtering in our house for drinking too. I didn't show that here.

Since we all need water. I thought I would show you what we have and use. I know there are many systems and ways for the peoples of our world to get water. Our drilled well is just one way.

That finishes my work and post on Steemit for now. I hope you learned something about our life today.
What do you do and have? Record it for us on Steemit. It is interesting to us.

Oh, don't forget the "Orlando Steemit Meetup." I plan to attend and hope to see you there.
@jerrybanfield has posted all about it here.

Thank you for your support and upvotes. I do appreciate it a lot.

Sort:

We have a drilled well and although our water tests cleanly, we still use a UV light, 3 banks of carbon filtres and the final step is RO for our drinking water supply and softening with salt for bathing. With that said, @knarly327 and I may remove the RO because I have been reading for a few years now that reverse osmosis is very acidic for the body. So many things are now, that it makes sense to eliminate heavy offenders. Still sitting on the fence about this.
With out water and air, the human body can't survive so it is critical for every single one of us. ;)

Rebecca
I rarely look for the utopia. "Good enough" satisfies me most of the time,
But with water. It is a little more critical. It can affect our bodies quickly.
Food additives may take longer to be detrimental to our bodies system.
But with water. I want to be a little more careful.
Thank you so much for your help. I'll refrain from singing any more songs to you today.
But don't get too comfortable though. The song man may strike at any time. Ha

Francis

Hahaha! I'll try not to get too comfortable but I have to tell you that I do have a fondness for the song man. ;)

To make you even more fond of the "song man." I offer this to you.
Please now. Be nice. No thumbs down or anything like that. Ha

Francis

Now why would you think that I wouldn't be nice about this or that I would give a thumbs down?...
It's a good reminder to keep wondering and to be humble as we live on this planet together.
Thank you for sharing it.
Rebecca

Rebecca
I was just kidding you. I know you wouldn't even if it wasn't good. lol

Protecting our natural eco-systems from further damage is critical, especially for the survival of some endangered species

We have a well here on our Homestead, but it is salt water. We are so close to the ocean and the water table is high. Our well is dug because drilling here we would have to go very deep (more than 400 feet) and no guarantee of good water. We would most likely hit sulphur water as we are also close to the volcanoes. Plus the prices for drilling are astronomical. We were quoted prices of up to $100 per foot...

Salt water is a problem. And desalination can be very expensive too.
Catching the rainwater is one way to help add fresh water for your usage.
Here in Florida. Just catching the rainwater would be a huge help for anyone.
Sunshine State is a little misleading. Rainfall here is high too.

Francis

I have to agree Francis. We do catch rain water during rainy season but dry season is another story. We could have as much as 7 months without rain. And every time I visit Florida it is raining and cool. What gives?

I like the cool. Not so much the rain. I don't mind some rain. But here. It has to rain so much more at one time than where I am from.
Or we have changing weather patterns.

Francis

During the fives years we lived in Florida we had a similar set up. When we moved back to Canada we went from a drilled well to a dig well which presented its own set of problems. Here is a link showing what we had to do to keep water running in our household.

Thanks for sharing Brother!

@brimax
I looked at your Steemit link. That is quite an investment. But when you need water. You need water.
For a drink of water. We would do much at times.

Francis

That is the truth.

Nothing beats that new filter feeling, does it? LOL

@tamaralovelace
You are right. When the water comes out of our unfiltered hose.
It seems clean enough. But the filter shows us how dirty it really is.
Our water system will work better for more years if I keep the filters changed.
The system itself works well. So I want to keep it that way. Ha
Thank you for your upvote and comment. I really appreciate it. It all helps.

Francis

Stunning picture with great article of water supply system. Human lifes need water highly. That priority thing. Need to protect water sources. You are nicely protect water. It seems from this post.
Resteemed.

Your are right. We all need water. Good water too.

Francis

Thanks for giving most important thing about water post @francisk.
Up-Voted & Re-Steemed.

@kingsberry
A lot of people in the world has water lines near their property.
Even though that may not be a majority.
The care of our water is very important for our health and well being.
Drilled wells where it is possible is a good source of water.
We never fail to have water here.

Francis

Hi there! thanks for sharing :) where is it you're living?

I love water (in all forms). It's the source of life, together with sun.

I hope to move from the Netherlands to the North of Portugal (a mountainous area with very clean air and water) in a couple of months.
Therefore, I recently started deepening my knowledge about permaculture and off-grid living. I hope to be able to share about my new life there soon (if I indeed get to live there). Till then, I will enjoy reading posts like yours and mainly share about creative stuff on my blog.
Have a great day!

@vincentnijman
We are located in Florida. Not too far from the Gulf Coast.
The air is clean here too.
The salt water has the cleaning effect for our air. The air quality here is good most of the time.
The new area that you plan to move to should be good. I wish you well in your move.

Francis

I see. That sounds like a pretty great place. Yeah, I can't wait to visit The Serra da Estrela (Starry mountains) in Portugal. The area is known for the cleanest air of Europe. As I have had trouble with my airways since I am born, I am looking forward to chis change of environment.

Let's keep in touch!

The property I have has a drilled well and dug well.

@pastorike
Better two than one. Without water. We are finished. We all have to have water.

Francis

Thank you for posting - water is often taken for granted.

You are right. A lot of us around the world just go to the water spigot and turn it on.
How convenient. But, not everyone can.
Not yet at least.
But little by little the world's clean water should be available to all.

Francis
