As the operator of @steemkiten and as a guest-judge and sponsor in this weeks contest I want to thank you for uttering your concerns. I understand and I share them!

The goal of this contest is to design the "character" for @steemkitten, not all the final art assets that might be needed to run @steemkitten.

I fully respect the hard work that an artist puts into developing their personal style and I would never intend to use their work for my own gains or without their explicit consent!

Please let me elaborte on my original statement in the post above:

Participants should agree to give their permission for having their original artwork featured in future posts by @steemkitten (credits will be given of course!).

Participants should be aware that their work could eventually be used to brand steemkitten and should be comfortable with that. Artwork will not be used without crediting the original artist (where feasible, probably not in every comment)

If the winner is totally amaze-balls and I like it so much that I'll want to keep it as @steemkitten's original identity, a longer term cooperation would be most awesome!

By this I want to stress that if any created artwork becomes the basis for @steemkitten's future design, this should happen on the basis of a cooperation.

I run @steemkitten out of generosity and as a practice of kindness, this is not a for-profit project. I am not rich and I don't expect to become rich with @steemkitten and most certainly not with misappropriated contest submissions.

I am sponsoring a small part of this prize (10SBD) out of my own pocket and due to a generous friend the prize has been upvoted tremendously. The potential prize payout is quite huge to be honest, more than I'd be able to pay for a regular commission.

After all, this is a project by the community and for the community!

I hope I could alleviate some of your concerns!
