Fishing at Shelly Beach, Manly

Just another one of my hobbies, let's go fishing. Look we caught something.

Shelly Beach in Manly is a spot my friend introduced us to. Google map here.

After parking in the parking lot, which I think charges $3 an hour now, you have to jump over the fence to get to the spot. It is very steep and slippery to get down there. So if you are carrying a heavy gear you need to be strong as to get down. My suggestion if you come down to this spot is to carry what you need and be a minimalist. Otherwise you might lose balance and might end up somewhere you don't want to be. This is what the spot looks like from the car park.

See those big rocks? You need to jump, go under, walk through those to get to the flats where those three guys are standing. No biggie. If you are Spiderman!

After lots of efforts to get down there look what we caught.

It's an undersize brown shark or some kind of shark.

This is what we were catching all day and a few snags here and there. I don't know what was down there but kept getting stuck. Probably lost a good amount of sinkers that day.

As great fishermen, we persisted and finally, after hours of waiting we caught one! Image is blurred to protect the fish.

It wasn't a great night but it was good to fish in the rain. Have a great one guys! Stay safe, wear 'em rock boots, not slippers like this guy.
