Do people care about privacy?

Paypal is just one of the examples were people selling their privacy for some small returns

There are 254 million paypal accounts. It works pretty simple. Buy stuff and get some points which you can then redeem for a t shirt or a pan.

Your spending gets of course tracked.

I ve read facebook makes about 12 $ per user per year. For the normal user their service is free. Therefore we give the content and activity. We like, share and even discuss politics for everyone to see.

To show how we think a bit more, we join different groups and like movie pages etc.

They get information, they get valuable information.

If it is free, you are the product

And we are

But we all give it willingly to save those 12$.

And this with millions and millions of people.

This could mean 2 things.

People dont know

or

They dont care

It is convenient and everyone and their dog has a facebook account to share funny cats videos and pictures of the last holiday.

With the messanger it is easy to set up a date for the next meeting with friends and we don`t neeed our grandmother anymore to remember birthdays. If you did not enter it on facebook you have no birthday for all I care.

And this is all free. What good people those facebook people are.

From time to time you can have a good laugh when people they via status update they don`t accept the new terms and conditions.

To a degree I dont`care about my privacy as well as I post pictures of me and I am sure over the years the internet has a pretty good idea what I like and dislike. Which is a bit scary.
