The brewing grain is from a smaller brewery in Spokane, though they are doing 10 bbl runs now so not really small. The hay is from a farmer about 12 miles to our west. I have been getting hay from him for 4 years now. My animals like his hay better than just about any other hay I buy from our area. That's why I am stocking up so much this year.
I am on farmer time so mornings are far better for me than nights.
For me it's because I am sick to death of being enslaved to my property and am looking forward to its all being done. But of course it never is. In Spring I am eager to begin, in Fall eager for it to end.

YES!!!! Totally feel that. There is always the looking forward to the next steps and the next season. Winter here is rough so that most of the yard work HAS to be done before the freezes and snows, which makes Fall the real rush.

It rained here every day for most of last week, so I wasn't able to get any more done in my garden. It's definitely cleanup time now.
How long does it take your critters to eat all that grain?
You have gotten our storms. My wife's family is in ND and the storms that hit us hit them about 2 days later, so you are another day past that.
My sheep and alpaca usually get through four 50 gallon drums of wet spent grain in about a week to 2 weeks. It depends mostly on the weather. If they are wandering their pen they eat less than when they are huddled around the bale.
