Love and Stuff

I snuck this picture on a tour on the Mekong Delta in Vietnam. I always imagine these two having been in love for forever. I know they're kind of melancholy looking but I'm choosing to believe they stick together through thick and thin. Does anyone want to share a little love story with me? Maybe how you met your partner? First kiss? A funny one? A summertime romance?
Thanks!

I think my favorite love story is my grandparent's. I've heard it about a million times and it's always been the same. My grandfather really loved my grandma, even after all of those years. I remember one recent Thanksgiving where I took the time to really watch their interactions as a couple on display. I just remember how much my grandpa fussed over the details to make my grandma feel taken care of. It made me reevaluate how I should treat who I was with.

That’s just really lovely. Consistent and lasting love is my favourite.
And you do a very very good job.

Caity and I met in art class almost 13 years ago. We sat at the same large, communal art table, because some mutual friends were bumpin' uglies -- so quiet old Mark was introduced to new people. We joked around and poked fun at eachother all the time (she was easy to play pranks on, which made childish flirting easy). She kept laughing at all my jokes, so I kept talking to her. I found out that she liked to talk about more than herself, which was super interesting, so we started to get to know eachother. We continued to hit it off, and started to chat outside of class. We made out in the parking lot of a Moxies, and then I had to pay to get her car released from the impound because she parked somewhere stupid.

We met for a first real 'date' at a Dairy Queen. I showed up early, as I tend to do, and sat there with a rubiks cube for a bit while I waited. Despite sitting there by myself with a rubiks cube, she still agreed to hang out with me. We got ice-cream and went for a walk -- after browsing through the dollar store for no real good reason (I bought a large novelty pen, because I can't go somewhere "just because").

Fast forward a bit. She is exposed to my family. Not only is she glowingly accepted and adored, but she hardly even recoils at the intricacies that are my family.

2 dogs, 1 cat, 3 cities together, about a dozen cities apart, and 12.5years later -- we're still putting up with eachothers bullshit. But I think we're both gettin' real sick of it.

I MEAN WHATEVER BUT LOVE IS REALLY NICE.
Thanks for the really lovely and detailed (super impressive! I hope you still have the pen) comment.
