Stock Photo Fail Cherry Tomatoes dailyfoodphotography
This horrible photo of cherry tomatoes is one of the main reasons I am so happy my son, @bxlphabet is now posting to steemit. He is very excited to blog about food and I am going to let him have it in this family business.
He likes all health food topics and he is very knowledgeable about them. I don’t want to do any of them. It works out perfectly to hand "food" off to him. Maybe I will just do food twice a week now. I feel all refreshed!
Stock Photo Fail Cherry Tomatoes
One of my first projects after I lost weight was a series of product photos to show serving sizes. All were bad like this tomato photo. No context, bad light, ugly staging. I could enter the bad food photo contest if they had one.
I was trying to show that one serving of veggies is not that hard to try - even try half of it. A lot of obese people are afraid to try vegetables like I was, so I was trying to explain it.
This photo has many light sources that glare at each other.
I no longer eat tomatoes. They are nightshades and hence, inflammatory.
You are viewing my entry for the dailyfoodphotography contest by @howtostartablog. Let us see your food too!
I’m using a Canon ELPH160 point and shoot camera. Not recommended!
Would I be in SE Asia having fun and adventure if I still weighed 275 pounds? I don't think so. Anyone can get over obesity and live their dreams if I did.
I've never liked tomatoes, but I do like derivatives (ketchup, marinara, etc). I only learned recently that they were inflammatory, but haven't tried eliminating them from my diet to see what impact it might have. Do you have any additional information about the adverse effects of tomatoes on humans?
I don't have tomatoes specifically. I do have info about nightshades and other issues of inflammation on this Pinterest board:
https://www.pinterest.com/fitinfun/health-rheumatoid-arthritis/
I have moderately severe Rheumatoid Arthritis and do not take rx for it. I watch myself heal on an anti-inflammatory diet and got worse without it. So I try to do it "right" as best I can. I pretty much avoid "toxins" as much as possible.
Sometimes I wish I didn't read your posts...lol. Love my tomatoes but trying to be careful about inflammatory foods. Think for now it will just have to be one I limit vs cutting out altogether.
Id suggest yoy check out nutritionfacts.org for a reliable source of information regarding the foods we should be eating to promote optimal health. DR Greger recommends an evidence based approach.

My evidence is in my body and how it reacts. Also - the many fellow sufferers in various online groups and what has helped them.
Hi again Sharon.
You know your own body better than anyone else. We all have genetic differences. If you have identified this food as problematic for you, I'm glad you're taking measures to alleviate the issues. This is unlikely to be an issue for the majority of people.
The many sufferers you speak of in online groups represent a vast minority and may in fact, share share a common genetic ablation that the rest of us do not have.
As for recommendations for populations, the evidence is very clear and backed by peer reviewed science. The vast majority of people will benefit from the nutrition packed into these foods that you claim should be avoided.
Thanks again for your contribution.
_Nick
Science is funded by drug companies and multinationals at every level. You don't get to be a "peer" unless you tow the line.
Inflammation is a huge problem for many - not a few. Obesity is at 40% in the us and the vast majority of those people are inflamed. You can see it by looking at the flush in their face. This often goes away in weeks with an anti-inflammatory diet. People post photos for proof of their transformation.
Many people report good results with this method and that's why they do it. Don't be afraid to check it out for yourself. Where are you getting your minority stats? Someone is leading you astray. Hopefully you also look into the death rates for the autoimmune rx while you are at it.
Im not exactly sure which world you are living on where all science is funded by drug companies. This is just a lie.
I think you might need to reevaluate where you're getting your information from. If you don't trust science, where are you getting YOUR information from?
Many of the diet related health problems arise from meat and other animal derived products in the diet. This is extensively backed by research that is NOT funded by agribusiness.
Hopefully you'll return to using science to back heath decisions in your life (alongside listening to your body which is important).
Don't believe all the conspiracies.
Where does the funding come from for the research you believe in?
I'll be interested to know what you find out. I have yet to ever see anything not funded by the big guys. Who else has money for this fraud and nonsense?
I believe the problem is more in the toxic additives than the food itself. Start looking up "generally recognized as safe" ingredients on the fda website. They plainly state all the chronic illness those toxins produce. Yet there it goes - into the "food" everyone eats.
When I stopped listening to bad advice - I lost 135 pounds, quit taking handfuls of pills each day and became substantially healthier than before. Before that - I spent many obese and sickly years - in and out of hospitals, nursing homes, and rehabs, just trying to live so that my son would not be an orphan.
Much of the illness was caused by the drugs. I only found this out when a nurse "lost" my newest prescription in intensive care and told me these drugs were killing me - not the disease. Soon after that episode, I started to do my own research and found lie after lie.
I am very lucky to have survived and my mission is to help others do the same.
I appreciate that avoiding drugs is a brilliant move and taking care of your body through nutrition is the best way forward.
I think we can both agree on that point.
Take care,
Nick.
I know - I'm a bad rabbit hole of info.
Do you have a health reason to avoid the inflammatory or just doing in in general? Go organic 100% with them at least. Generally, cooked is better.
Old and new sports injuries hurt more and more as I'm getting older. My Wife half jokes that I won't be walking by the time I'm 60.
Can't honestly say the foods I eat add to this yet, but my Dad swears some do for him. So have been starting to cut back as a drastic change never lasts long with me. Small changes over time are always more sustainable for me.
That's how I did it - over 4 year timeframe and still changing daily. I'm 58 and barely walking, so I do what I can to keep what I have.
Keep it up! Your changes have been so dramatic. Sure your changes are why you are still walking.
Food photography (or food porn, as we call it around here) is a whole art form onto itself. Like most things, it just takes lots of experimentation and practice. I don't eat raw tomatoes; I get hives in my mouth within minutes. You have to be careful with nightshades.
Bright Blessings!
Interesting! That happened to me with my beloved eggplant. Sadly a thing of the past now.
even the right side is brighter and takes my focus more than tomatoes.
lol - Yes this is bad in every way!
i never eat this frout
Do you have it in your country?
No
Excellent photo. I also love cherry Tomatoes. These are an important source of vitamins A and C, and also source of potassium , vitamin K. Thanks for sharing nice post. Stay blessed.
Yes, they are great if you can eat them. I miss them now.
I love cherry tomatoes are so small and you can add them to whatever you want
Good point. They are fun to pop with your teeth!
Fantastic
Its a good cause to get people to eat more veges. Even just for the reduction in bowl cancer.
Hi Sharon,
I think the benefits of plants such as peppers, chilli and tomatoes indicated that they should be consumed in the diet. My go to resource is Dr Greger at https://nutritionfacts.org/video/are-chili-peppers-good-for-you/.
The video/ article above discusses what evidence there is available in the english literature to support claims of benefit.
Great transformation, by the way! You look terrific now!
All the best,
Nick
I can't eat any of them. I will break out in hives, my joints will swell, my throat will close, the inside of my mouth will burn. This happens with all nightshades, especially eggplant, and many other foods. So I eat what goes the other way and calms inflammation. If you are interested in this topic, go into natural healing groups anywhere - no one will be eating those foods if they have autoimmune disease and treat it with diet.
I'll take you on face value that these foods affect autoimmune disease sufferers. As per my previous post - if it helps you, great. It shouldn't be encouraged for people that do not have these digestive/enzyme/autoimmune issues. An analogous approach is discouraging people who do NOT have coeliac disease from consuming gluten. It makes no sense here.
The recommendation for populations is to eat them for the vast benefits they provide including the function of lycopene.
_Nick
What do you think is the cause and solution for 4 out of 10 americans suffering from obesity?
Gluten takes it's own toll and many people - including me - do better to avoid it - especially from us toxic wheat.
Who is funding the people making the recommendations you believe in?
Autoimmune and celiac and countless other chronic disease rates are skyrocketing. Could something is the food have anything to do with that? There is no money in finding out that answer so the study is not done.
The cause of obesity? I that can largely be attributed to meat and animal product consumption. Look at the blue zones in the world that have the lowest incidences of heart disease, cancers and diabetes -- not to mention extremely low rates of allergies. These populations eat mostly starchy diets virtually free from all animal products.
I agree that what people eat contributes to health problems.
Scientific research shouldn't ever be about the money. That's why we have governments funding research such as Australia's CSIRO and government funding to boost university research. However most uni research is funded by the universities and they get their money from fee paying students. In Australia we have government supported loans for students wishing to study at a tertiary level to be paid back as they earn an income after the complete their studies.
IF you believe these studies aren't being done, where are you getting your research from? Anecdotal evidence doesn't really hold up. It's a start where no research has been done--- but is a diving board from which scientific studies can launch from.
_Nick
This why trusting your own body is so revolutionary. All of the research you mention is funded by the same people pushing the poison. If you are trusting your government - I am sorry to hear that.
I don't know anything first-hand about your country except that many natural remedies are illegal there. People go to great lengths to get certain substances into the county. And you are one of the test countries for the un agenda 2030. You might want to you that pdf up and see what is in store for you and has already happened without you noticing.
