Monomad Cambodian Food Delivery Peoplephotography by worldcapture week #5

You can see my Phnom Penh, Cambodia tuktuk driver, and a very nice street vendor, delivering my food as I sit like a princess in my carriage. I yelled at my driver to turn around and stop here and he did so with great puzzlement. One thing I can spot in SE Asia is bbq meat on a stick, and I love 98% of it (no chicken butts, thank you). This was the good stuff, for sure.

Both my driver and my chef were shocked beyond belief that I wanted this food, but it was an excellent, delicious, and fulfilling buy for about $2 usd. I wish I had some right now. I got an assortment of everything she had that was boneless.

Lee went over to monitor all of the action, since I was exhausted already from my day. You can see the other food cart lady in the back absolutely stunned that we turned around like this and wondering why I want this food, much less photos.

My tuktuk driver is my fb friend Lee. I had watched his posts for months while planning my trip to Phnom Penh. I read post after post of other travelers showing how happy they where to have hired him in this not-very-easy city. He will take you anywhere in town or in the entire country on day trips or even longer stays.

I was very boring to him during my 5 day Thai Visa run. I just wanted to get back and forth to the airport and the Embassy, and I had a few dinners. That "to and from" travel is enough fun for me. Phnom Penh puts me on sensory overload as you can see in this one minute dtubesnap I posted about one of my wild rides with Lee.

I really love this city, but I would not have loved it so much if I did not have someone I knew taking care of me. Lee consistently gave me safety advice, pulled me out of traffic, and made me protect my possessions better as we traveled. What is second nature to him was completely unknown to me.

I was mostly working in my highly rated and cheap Billabong Hostel room the whole time anyway. This is an amazing oasis with one of the best pools I have ever had the pleasure of swimming in in my entire life. Take that recommendation to the bank!

I spotted this lady and her meat on a stick as we were driving past the main sites of Phnom Penh one night. We were planning to get dinner somewhere but when I saw this - plans changed! I was so happy and my $2 worth of food lasted me for two meals. You can find this wonderful cook with her bbq cart to the left of the Royal Palace, where I did not go in, but I'm sure it is lovely.
