The Power Of Doing.
There are quite a lot of sayings that try to encourage us to act. Many of us know these words and can recite them flawlessly but how many actually put them into practice?
In this world that we live in, these days, everyone has got an idea so much so that it is almost impossible for somebody somewhere else not to "steal" your idea. Let me tell you a little story.
As a young child just out of secondary school, I had loads of time on my hand and being the indoor indoor type (you could add one more "indoor"), my room was my best friend. I'd stay in and read books for hours. Funny enough, once these books had to do with school work, the zeal to read usually disappeared but that's not why we are here today.
Through reading and always being by myself, my mind was trained or developed to come up with ideas. I had a book (like many others like me) where I wrote these things. One of the many ideas I had even before getting into the university was to have an online recruitment service. There was nothing like this at that time, I had the idea and plans but didn't posses the technical prowess to pull it off. So this idea remained locked in the pages of my book till Jobberman happened.
I must have been really furious as I rushed back to my notebook to crosscheck and confirm that all the features I had listed were implemented. It was as though they had gotten access to my notes. That was my first experience with a situation like that.
Over time, as I have studied and been involved in startups, I have come to realise as is now common knowledge, that ideas are a dime a dozen. If two people who have never met can have the same ideas, what then differentiates them and determines success?
Execution!
You know when your friend is gisting you about a show and they say "...that guy killed the show!", that is execution! The reason why there are always more than one of a particular type of company in every sector is because each one of them believes they can do a better job than the others.
This is why I feel that everyone should learn to act more than they currently do.
My favourite example here on Steemit has to be @surpassinggoogle. Since I joined, I've watched him start out several projects as the ideas come to his mind. Some of the projects didn't last for long but I can very easily say all of those projects contributed in one way or the other to the success of @steemgigs today.
Too many people are way too scared to try out stuff that they end up remaining on the same spot.
If you found yourself at a cliff, with the thought of jumping, what's the worst that could happen? The worst that could happen is that you jump and fall on your back but what if you jumped and off you went, floating in the sky? Will that be enough motivation for you to jump? Some of the best lessons are learned after we must have tried a particular thing. Just like I now know what food to runaway from when next I go to Ghana because I've got first hand info and experience, the same goes for every other thing in this life.
You'll never know until you try. So get up and do something about that idea. The worst that can happen is that you learn from it and implement the lessons in the next idea. Execution is key. Don't stop doing.

True! It ain't just about gaining knowledge, having imaginations, knowing what to do... What crowns all of these is the 'doing' aspect. Unfortunately, most people, I believe, hardly consider the option, "what if it works?". First thought coming to the mind is, "what if it doesn't work out?"
During my third year in the university, I wanted to sign up for a public speaking contest. To an extent, I knew I had more than a bit of what's required as a little-average public speaker then. I failed to sign up then cos I was scared of how it'll turn out. Same thing happened the following year. In the 5th year (my final year), I eventually tried it out, and I finished second.
I realized the moment one stops being scared of failure, one starts doing things right.
For as many who go through this comment, BE ENCOURAGED! From every form of failure, you learn how not to do it next time. It sure isn't the end of the world.
@Fistagenos, keep up the good work....
Quite a good read and very lucid. We all have to strive to start something today without fear of failure. You are a great motivation for some us and we are grateful to have you here. Thanks for sharing.
Doing is an act

You indeed my steemian of the week
https://steemit.com/nigeria/@geyzee/my-steemians-of-the-week
Saludos!
I always wish i acted more than i thought or spoke, believe I would be far ahead of where i currently am.
Imagine if everyone get to work on all the crazy ideas they don't execute out of fear, humanity would boost a lot in short time
That's the thing. That's the major reason why we all need to chase those fears away.
Thousands of people now have the same idea, that's why it's better to just do it as they come..
Wow. This is beautiful.
" EXECUTION "; That really has always been the challenge, and it has affected me too in a great way.
Thank you @fisteganos for this timely reminder!!!
Steem on!!!
It’s a challenge we all have to overcome on a daily basis!
