Color Challenge - SundayPurple: So much Spin!
For today's color challenge I'm showing you another fairground ride from the Edinburgh Christmas Market. What I like so much about this first shot is that I even managed to capture the Star Flyer from Thursday's post.

Here's another shot of the same ride, this time after the Star Flyer has moved out of the frame:

And just to demonstrate how transformative a long exposure can be to a moving object like this, here is the same ride at a much faster shutter speed:

Thanks for looking!

I'm trying to understand what is creating the green swirl of light. Is it the Star Flyer? Is the Star Flyer a ride attached to the tower/structure? So many questions! :)
These are truly fantastic shots...upvoted & resteemed.
Thank you so much! Yes, the green swirl of light is the Star Flyer from my previous post. So the tower that the green swirl is around is what the the star flyer goes up (you can see in the second pic only the white swirls remain because it just moved out of the frame - those white swirls come from the bottom of the seats people sit in).
If you check my previous post here: https://steemit.com/colorchallenge/@fiftysixnorth/color-challenge-thursdaygreen-the-star-flyer you can see more pictures of the star flyer including one during the day that is not an abstract long exposure. That should clarify what the star flyer is :)
That is so cool!!! It looks like a puple nexus energy core from the far future, or some sci-fi, lol. Once I get the means to, I reeeaally want to purchase a nice camera. You can't do much with an iphone lol
Thanks! Oh I hadn't looked at it like that but you're right it totally does! :)
A good DSLR is definitely worth it, but you don't have to break the bank to get started :) Entry level DSLRs are reasonably priced (depending on what you consider reasonable!) and can get you started quickly. If you do I recommend you definitely invest in a tripod and remote trigger as well.
In the meant time check out some of the photo apps available for the iphone. They can really expand the phone's camera capabilities.. like allowing long exposures. :)
So interesting to see! Great shots.
