Amsterdam Architecture - Canal-Side Living

This is a typical (and also one of my favourite) types of views in Amsterdam. The tall thin houses and the houseboats floating in the canal. I had a look recently as to how much a house like that would set you back if you wanted on and my god its crazy. Many of the buildings are used now as offices or as shops, but a good number are still used as people's family homes, I'm guessing they'll never sell them though and just pass them on in the family because they're so hard to get a hold of. One of those will set you back about €4million. The house boats about €1.5million but with the added cost of annual berthing fees. Some are less of course but this seemed to be the norm from what I could see.
Thanks for Looking.

Goodness that is a fortune to pay for a house. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful setting. The colors of the houses and houseboats contrast lovely with the green of the trees. Still has the old world charm.
Yeah its crazy how expensive the houses are. If I won the lottery though i'd snap one up! It certainly does still hold the old world charm.. i think it's one of the things that makes people fall in love with Amsterdam so easily :)
Thanks @pixresteemer :)
