Winter is coming...
...and its a good thing to. I miss winter. Growing up in warm countries my entire life; the deep south in America (Georgia), India and Indonesia, I have grown accustomed to heat and one of the main reasons I chose to move to Scotland for University and later to settle as my home base, was because of winter. I wanted to experience real winter.
Snow. I love snow, and it is something I don't see often. Even here in Scotland. But then that is because I live in the city. If I lived outside of town I am sure I'd see more of it. But look how it transforms the place. It looks amazing.
It would seem these tourists agree with me. Very wise of them! They are clearly people of character and impeccable taste! Really, there is nothing that excites me more in the winter than...
Snow in Scotland. That reminds me, I need to buy a new pair of shoes. What brought this post on you may ask? Well its September, the summer has flown by and I am happy it has. As a kid summer is always the best time, but I have had a lifetime of summers.. even in winter! Have you ever decorated a palm tree for christmas? In shorts and flip flops while eating ice cream and sweating you ass off? I have.. a lot.. and as fun as that sounds, after a while you ache for the wintery snowy christmas you always see in the movies. At least I did.
Don't get me wrong here, it can suck too. Check out this shot I took while on my way to a meeting one day. That sucked.. but it made for a pretty picture!
Its not all romantic, holywood notions of the yuletide season, but it sure is nice. I want to drink mulled wine by a fire, go skiing and enjoy views of the city like this:
The days get shorter too, but I'm ok with that.. Well, except for the fact that sunrise is quite late, about 8am and I do hate getting up for work when its still dark outside, but then you get to enjoy a nice sunrise from your kitchen window while you are eating breakfast and that is worth it!
Sunrise from my Kitchen
So there you have it, winter is coming and I couldn't be happier about it. What about you? What is your favorite time of year? Are you looking forward to the Winter months or would you rather live the endless summer?
Thanks for Looking.

I prefer the warmer weather @fiftysixnorth but I can never deny I like the snow not only that but it coats the land beautifully.
I totally agree! I am more a warm weather person, but I do love the snow!
Thanks @thekittygirl :) There was no selective colour processing done at all. This is the result of natural lighting :)
Then you were certainly there at a magical time of day! That view is stunning!
Thanks @pixresteemer :)
Beautiful. Thank you for the lovely images! Stay warm. :)

Thanks @katrina-ariel :)
If I was a fan of the cold, I would love to live there, if nothing more than to enjoy all the rustic looking - almost fairy tale - buildings.
Its awesome.. but for me its the rain that drives me crazy!
The first photo is mind-blowing. What a breath-taking view! You killed it. I would like to visit this place, may be next winter. It would be difficult to get up when it is still dark, hope that doesn't make you lazy for the day.
Enjoy the snow!
Thanks! It is difficult.. every morning is a struggle right now.. the sun doesn't come up until 8am. I hate having to get up in the dark!
