ACHIEVEMENT 4 BY @feyol55 | TASK : APPLYING MARKDOWNS
Good day steemians, I'm glad to make my Achievement 4 post today and I will be applying some of the knowledge have gotten about markdown in a short write up on vitamins. Some of the Markdown I will be using includes Headline, Justify Text, Align Text into cells, Tables, quotes and subscript.
VITAMINS AND ITS FUNCTION
Vitamins are organic molecule that are usually found in foods we eat. They are essential micronutrients which the human body requires in little quantities to work or function properly. They help the body to grow and remain healthy.
Vitamins are basically grouped into two namely : Fat soluble and water soluble.
In 1913 American researcher Elmer Mc Collum divided vitamins into two groups : 'fat-soluble A' and 'water-soluble B'
Fat Soluble Vitamins are usually stored in the fat tissue of the body when ingested. They are also stored in the liver and The fat soluble vitamins stays longer in the body until the body needs them for use. The body has some special carriers that transport this vitamins to the point where they are needed. Examples of Fat soluble vitamins include : Vitamin A, D, E and K.
Water soluble vitamins are quite different from the fat soluble vitamins. These vitamins dissolve in water, they travel through our bloodstream when we ingest them. They are not usually stored in the body. Water soluble Vitamins include : Vitamin C, Vitamin B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B6 (pyridoxine), B7 (Biotin), B9 (Folic Acid) and vitamin B12.
