How STEEM was designed to be, and how it SHOULD run
Using this template, anyone who views your site is contributing. Steem accounts in this way would be treated like "author accounts". A reader does not need to be on steem in order to interact with you or make you money, thanks to advertisements.
You should also note the lack of "blockchain terminology" like resteem, upvote, wallet, payouts etc. This is utterly uninteresting to actual readers.
That space for ads could also contain a post promoted through steem or sbd burn. This would be the incentive to buy steem. Companies who want their ad could either pay someone to post it for them, like a group specialized in this, or they could buy and burn steem themselves.
Usually people who would want to burn steem/sbd for their posts are people who want to promote their projects outside of steem. So... "My new game is launching! I'm going to make a post about it, buy some steem then burn to promote it. Or contact someone who would do this for me."
Their post would show up on the ad spaces. Except only on the blogs that have anything to do with them. It could show up on my blog then, but not on the blog of anyone who never posts using the #gaming tag.
This business model for the blockchain makes STEEM worth buying for advertisement purposes, as long as it's easy enough doing so. It also opens up content viewership to anyone, even to those who know nothing about cryptocurrency.
Maintaining a site like steemit.com for those who want to know more about crypto while also creating a new one like referenced above would maximize reach for both technically-inclined and end-user audiences.
Steem Power would also take part in this. Maintained by investors, accounts with a lot of SP would reward authors who bring readers and viewers. Afterall, they're the whole reason steem would be burned for outsider ads. They're also why google would pay any money to the website. Tracking this is easy thanks to website / google analytics.
This is the complete STEEM business model as I would assume it was originally designed. Would you like to see this happen?
