A coin shop visit - stackin' it up
Well,
Like I do almost every week, I stopped by the coin shop, because you just never know what you'll find there. Well this find was a great one...
Have a look.
Mercury dime collection. Bought for $9.00cad
US half dollar collection. $22.00 cad
I loved this one, because it says "obsolete coin collection". this one was $15.00 cad
Then I found these Olympic coins to add to my collection of them, I think I almost have a full set now. If you haven't held them, you're missing out, the 10.00 coin is a big chunky 1.5oz sterling.
I got these at 3x face value.
Anyways, I feel like I've been killin it on my coin and silver game lately, and that's partly because of my recent venture into crypto! I've made some fairly modest gains trading recently which has allowed some more cash flow, so that's exciting. Hopefully steem makes some gains some day for me as well. Silvergoldbull takes BTC as payment as well as our favorite coin guru's down at Phelimint, so I think I'll be making a BTC to silver direct buy soon!
yeeeeehhhh good stuff man, yeh i always check around, cuz you never know you might run into something good, upvoted
always have to check! you never know what gems you may find!
or treasures hahahaaa! keep it going
the Olympic set look really good , have they held the olympic in Montreal before?
1976 they hosted the games. These are a real cool set. 28 coins total.
hahaha dam and you almost have the full sets big ups to you hahaha, thanks for the info
I like the javelin coin I used to be quite good at that but I preferred shot-put I was the junior champion for 3 years in my county, but I was 6 ft tall at 13 years old so I had a big advantage. Great pickups if they did a 20 dollar coin you could use it as a discus! :-)
Thanks dude, the obsolete coins collection wasn't a screaming deal, but I didn't have any buffalo nickels and the merc dime set was a fantastic deal, so it balances out I figure. I'm not sure I'm thrilled about the old 1980's packaging, but I'll leave them for now, and maybe put them in cardboard 2x2's later. The olympic coins are a nice thing to stack!
Yeah I was thinking that's a great deal on the Merc's, like 7 for 9 bucks cad is real cheap that's about 75 pence each in UK which is about half price :-)
Yeah, it was a good deal. I think I only paid 7.50 for the obsolete coins, But I typed 15.
I like that half dollar collection/holder, looks like it would be a fun conversation starter! Great pickups!
Thanks.
I’ve seen those Montreal Olympic coins before! A great addition to any Canadian stack!
They sure are, especially since I buy them cheaper than maples!
May I ask where you get them?

Sweet pickups neighbor.
Yeah, they're great. I like the size of the 10$ ones. Thanks. You'll have to make your way down here to the coin shop some day, bring cash! ,💵

Thanks Goldkey, I don't normally buy sets like that but these were cheap enough I decided to.
