STEEMIT MUSIC 106: TRIPLETS AND DOTTED NOTES

I warmly welcome you to another exciting episode of STEEMIT MUSIC. As always, it promises to a time of vital learning. I indeed believe we have been following our discussions so far, as every discussions is usually a build up or continuation of previous lectures. For today, we shall be considering TRIPLETS AND DOTTED NOTES:

A triplet is a group of three notes, it has the same value as two note values or duration within the triplets. For example, a triplet made up of quarter notes has the same duration as two regular quarter notes.
WHOLE NOTE TRIPLET
A whole note triplet is a hollow note head with no stem or flag, it has has the same duration as a regular two whole note.
HALF NOTE TRIPLET
A half note head is a hollow note head with a stem and no flag, it has the same duration as a regular two half note.
QUARTER NOTE TRIPLET
A quarter note head is a blocked note head with a stem and no flag, it has the same duration as a regular two quarter note.
EIGHTH NOTE TRIPLET
An eighth note head is a blocked note head with a stem and one flag, it has the same duration as a regular two eighth note.
SIXTEENTH NOTE TRIPLET
A sixteenth note head is a blocked note head with a stem and two flags, it has the same duration as a regular two sixteenth note.
THIRTY SECOND NOTE TRIPLET
A thirty second note head is a blocked note head with a stem and three flags, it has the same duration as a regular two thirty second note.
SIXTY FOURTH NOTE TRIPLET
A sixty fourth note head is a blocked note head with a stem and four flags, it has the same duration as a regular two sixty fourth note.

A dot on a note increase the duration of the note by half of its original value. For example, if a quarter note is dotted, its duration is the same as one quarter note plus one eight note. The dot is usually attached to the right side of the note head
WHOLE NOTE
A dotted whole note is a hollow note head with a dot to its right, but no stem or flag, it has the same duration of a whole note plus a half note, this is equivalent to a bar and half or six beats.
HALF NOTE
A dotted half note is a hollow note head with a dot to its right,a stem and no flag, it has the same duration of a half note plus a quarter note, this is equivalent to three beats.
QUARTER NOTE
A dotted quarter note is a blocked note head with a dot to its right,a stem and no flag, it has the same duration of a quarter note plus an eighth note.
EIGHTH NOTE
A dotted eighth note is a blocked note head with a dot to its right,a stem and one flag, it has the same duration of an eighth note plus a sixteenth note.
SIXTEENTH NOTE
A dotted sixteenth note is a blocked note head with a dot to its right,a stem and two flags, it has the same duration of a sixteenth note plus a thirty second note.
THIRTY SECOND NOTE
A dotted thirty second note is a blocked note head with a dot to its right,a stem and three flags, it has the same duration of a thirty second note plus a sixty fourth note.
SIXTY FOURTH NOTE
A dotted sixty fourth note is a blocked note head with a dot to its right,a stem and four flags, it has the same duration of a sixty fourth note plus a one hundred and twenty eight note.
