Vlog 405: MIRA is here! Scaling is solved! MIRA will decentralize Steem and make it unkillable.

in #dtube5 years ago

MIRA is here!

With MIRA the Steem blockchain is the first blockchain that will reduce it's hardware costs requirements while it's aging.

It's an amazing achievement.

You will be able to run a full Steem node on commodity hardware.

This means more developers and users will be able to run a full node and the costs of witness-servers will go down a lot too.

This will decentralize this blockchain and make it unkillable.

Combine that with the Resource credit system that is already in place that prevents bloating of the blockchain and the future of Steem is bright.

Next on the list will be SMT's, communities and RC's pooling.

You don't have to wait for SMT's btw, you can already make tokens on Steem Engine and if you later choose to you can swap them to SMT's when they come out.

RC pooling will make onboarding a breeze for app developers and communities.

Building on the cheapest to run blockchain in the world and the one that has the biggest community makes so much sense.

A lot of people are already doing that. They will benefit greatly.

It's only a matter of time now before we reach critical mass.

Biggest community in the crypto space, most used dapps in the world, cheap nodes thanks to MIRA, SMTs, RC delegation, majority of the supply is vested...

I can see this thing skyrocket in value out of the blue and surprise quite a lot of people to be honest.

I agree 100%!

unrelated to this post : What is your lookout for the future of steem(it) as a blogging platform? I know you touched on the topic before but I think this would be very interesting

With communities and SMT's blogging will keep being a part of Steem but I doubt it will be the main thing like it has been for a long time.

Major Milestone!!
More and more people will look at STEEM blockchain as one of the best options...

Next on the list will be SMT's, communities and RC's pooling.
Where did you read anything about communities? Since last year, I don’t recall reading anything about communities. If they will be working on vcommunities soon, I think it will be huge for Steem.

@andrarchy mentioned it on the Steem telegram channel.

@exyle, You are spreading Steem Motivation and definitely great to know about the MIRA. And definitely we need to move towards the complete Decentralisation.

That is very awesome. I would be interested to know if the cost to run a STEEM server was higher than a server from a different blockchain. Were the costs inflated already so that now they are more normal or is STEEM now one of the most inexpensive nodes to run?

Steem was higher cost than most blockchains because of the fast transaction times had meant lots of RAM required. Now its no more expensive than other much slower blockchains and much much cheaper than EOS and other fast blockchains.

Awesome! That makes a ton of sense and thanks for the info! I appreciate it.

I didn't know steem was the first blockchain in doing something like this, it's quite a great achievement indeed. As you always say, the continuous developing of this blockchain is what makes it real special.

In every technology if they are able to reduce the cost of that technology throughout the solutions then definalty it will grow so far. As you are telling through MIRA STEEM is able to do it then that's really good and appriciated.

Thanks for a great video @exyle, this is really very exciting, and it's a good development for Steem and it's ecosystem, have an awesome day ahead.

@exyle looking forward to MIRA making running a witness more possible to small VPS owners. Going from hundreds of GB down to just a few is quite impressive. I hope it works well on hard drives, or swap files.. however its done.
