Friend.My oil painting
My dog, whom I love very much, recently turned 9 years old. To my shame, I discovered that I never painted it. Frankly, I had never painted oil with pets before.
Therefore, I decided to experiment, with a model, color scheme and composition, especially when right before my eyes was my dog.
It seems that it turned out quite well) Everyone to whom I showed this picture told me that my artistic work really looks like my dog.
This is the first personal picture for me. I think this is my gift to myself. In those moments when I will not be near him, I will always see this picture and smile.
This is a friend who is always with you.
What a beautiful gift to yourself. It's good that you realized that you haven't painted him before. He looks adorable. I like those huge eyes and the sparkle that is in them. I am sure that you two still have a lot of fun. He looks like a dog that likes to play :)

The dog used to love to play, but the older he gets, the more lazy he is. But you can forgive him)
Art is special in its own way on many account, so is an artist too'. Because it is not possible for an ordinary man to draw or sing or make a sculpture etc. So for you, as an artist you have that special talent to sure.
Your painting looks good to say the least, we know oil painting is a difficult stuff to do, and you have made some special effort to make it so good in its look. By the way how many days it took for you to complete.
You could also post an original snap of the dog so that we would be able to see how perfect your drawing looks. Any how great effort, Kudos.

Thank you very much! I wrote a lot about talent and personality here. For myself, I can say that I have never emphasized my abilities. They just were. I feel the impulse and see the image, just starting to draw)) This is more for the soul, I guess. A kind of meditation)
I draw quickly, it is not a big canvas, with which I usually work. This picture was finished in 2 hours)

To be honest I always have some problems with small dog breeds... And the Chihuahuas... They are truly real friends to their owners and a threat to vets! :))
I always love to deal with them, before gaining their trust, you need to have the owner trust you... After that, this little lovely creature will begin to work on their relationship with you! ;)
After seeing your art, I'm just thinking about having some paintings of pets in clinic...

I am also very impressed with your approach and your work. In childhood I always dreamed of working with animals. They are so similar to humans, each animal has its own unique character and set of qualities. Probably, you need to feel and understand your patients very thinly in order to find an approach to each of them!
And paintings with animals are a really good idea. It is a pity that birds don't live in my house. I think that drawing them would also be very cool))
You know if I want to get to my point in another approach, I can say that dogs put all their fate and trust in their owners (That's what I believe). They put their owner before themselves. I always find it hard when a nervous or worried owner come for a visit. Because their pet will interpret this as a uncomfortable situation. They don't like it when their owners are not comfortable, and because the poor vet (:D), is the first person encountered after this bad situation, they will consider it as the vet's fault!
So there's two options! Work on your relationship with the owner! Or ask them to leave the room before it gets worse! The latter is my least favorite, cause that will lead to animal stress of being alone with a foreigner!
I can talk about this for hours!
At last, I'm in love with animals, so whatever happens, I'll try to do my best!
I also respect people who cares for animals, because on this planet, they can care about someone or something else other than themselves!
I totally get you when you say calling your dog a "friend" is the least you can say... I know how it feels to live with them (any species). So I can just wish you and your little buddy the best!

I always try to help animals, especially the homeless. In my country, this is all very bad. You have to do it yourself. Search for new and caring owners, feed them and try to warm the poor ones during the cold weather. This is the least I can do for them.
I totally get you... There is going to be a rule in my country which even forbids carrying your own pet in your car... So whatever!
