SF2 introducing new steemit logo, colour theme and night mode !
You probably realised it when you logged in, that the steemit page has changed a lot.
First of all there is a new colour theme and steemit logo in turqoise. Whether you like turqoise or not is surely a personal preferance, but I really like it so far. The steemit logo fits the theme very well, but I am not so sure if the new logo will attract more people.
It is not really a cool logo. You might have a different opinion on this one, but it is just an "S" with a speech bubble within (very clever :D).
It is a quite different webpage style though, which is easily recognizable and I have not seen anything like it before. You need to stand out from the rest, if you wanna gain market shares.
But the best thing about this new style is the new button "Toggle Night Mode". Finally they realised that the usual steemit page was way to bright and hurt the eyes. You can find this new button when you click on your avatar picture.
I had the night mode by @klye for months now, but most people did not even know it existed. Now everyone can have the luxury of the night mode which is a great development for steemit page.

I think most people will agree that the night mode is a great thing and that the steemit logo looks way better on night mode. I think it should be switched to default, but it is not necessary, because everyone can choose now.

Generally I like the new design, but maybe you are right, it's not catchy enough..Like your idea with the S in the speech bubble..You should draw it, so we can see excactly what you mean👍
I use nightmode myself very often, when my eyes need to relax a bit😁

You did missunderstand my post a little bit. The new logo is already an S. And within that S, there is a speech bubble. Look at it again and you will see it too. This was not my idea, but thanks that you attributed this to me :D

I like the night mode and I'm kind of surprised the esteem app had it before the regular site did. I think functionality / usability / reliability of the website should be the main focus. I mean yeah the logo is OK but I think you're right, it's not going to make a difference in attracting people.
I think it's silly how much time some companies put into corporate branding, logos, and slogans. I'm not necessarily talking about steemit here...my company has been pushing this stupid new corporate slogan for like six months now and it doesn't even really make any sense. It certainly won't help our profits or sales any. It makes me wonder how much time and money they spent coming up with it. I've gotta think that time and money could have been put towards something more...useful?
At least they have been working on many different things. You never know because their communication sucks :D.
They promised a rebranding so they kinda had to take the time and rethink it. Maybe it also has symbolic value, like a new start, a blank slate.
Yeah I was pretty disappointed in Ned's recent update regarding the DDoS attacks and the problems with the site recently. It was like two sentences long and didn't really say anything specific other than "we're always working on it..." or something like that.The communication could be improved for sure.
