Upper Uftyuga

Upper Uftyuga is a village in the Krasnoborsky district of the Arkhangelsk region, located on the river Uftyuga (tributary of the Northern Dvina). Distance to the regional center - Krasnoborsk - 48 km.

I tried to get to Upper Uftyuga in the summer, but the attempt failed because of instability in the mode of the ferry service. But in winter all roads are open. I will say right away that there is no need to go here except for the sake of a huge 18th-century wooden church.

The church of Dmitry Solunsky is really impressive in size.

But it is so unfortunate that all foreshortenings seem to be a failure.

The village itself does not stand out for anything special: the usual cozy northern streets, old houses characteristic of the Arkhangelsk region.

After seeing a lot of interesting things, the eyes are being blurred to simpler places.

The places here are dead-end. Behind the Upper Uftyuga there are a couple of large settlements - two timber-processing villages and several semi-abandoned villages. And then the forest...

The population is about 300 inhabitants and the number is decreasing every year.

In the village there are many wells-cranes. There are both active and abandoned.

Still here on many wooden constructions and in general on trees there are many lichens.

Many houses are used as dachas. For example, this house is in good condition, but there is no way to it.

Through the river Uftyuga there is a good road and there are also villages.

That's probably all about Upper Uftyuga. Perhaps in the summer I would be able to take more pictures, or maybe even be disappointed. If you in doubt to go or not in some place in the summer, then go in the winter for exploration.

This time, intelligence showed that one visit would be more than enough.
