Vote for witnesses
- The Steem blockchain is not maintained by a central - or centralized - organization. That means your articles, votes, earnings and withdrawals are not guaranteed by a single entity, like, let's say, Facebook. Instead, there is an ever-changing consortium of witnesses, which are running special servers, called witness nodes, which are taking turns in validating those transactions. You should always, and constantly, vote for witnesses, because the entire network depends on them.

How come nobody who ever runs for the job of witness gives speeches and tries to buy votes and if they do give speeches and try to buy votes, no one votes for them?

i looked into what being a witness involved.
I didn't even understand half the words.
I've talked to drago on a number of ocassions...and read his stuff.

Well, based solely on your recommendation and because I thought from the pic that @dragosroua was a hot chick and would be the first witness hot chick I just voted. Which was funny because I could have sworn he was a guy before I saw the pic

you set your proxy..that allows HIM to vote...as a witness
with all of the addittional POWAH of your Steem.
so..that means if he had , oh...let's say a thousand people give him their proxy..each one has , a thousand steem...then the has a thousand thousand steem power to influence witness stuff...like hardfork 19, or banning flagging...or 'stuff'.
The way I understand it..the proxy stands until you change it.
