At first I thought you were a nutcase ... trash on the ground ... special keeper ...
So I showed the picture to my daughter ...
"The gecko."
"The gecho ... what gecko?" What was really humiliating was that I used to be a sniper in the military. She went on about that for 10 minutes. The joys of having a child.
I, too, submitted an entry into MonochromeMonday (first attempt). I'm sure I managed to set a record for the ways a submission can disqualify itself. Not a B&W photo (a B&W painting), not mine (from 1824) and with a poem overlaid (that was mine). Too ambitious ... but once the ball got rolling, I couldn't stop myself. The story (and the entry) is on my feed if your interested.
I want you to promise me something though. If it turns out that there is something more in that picture ... like say, a horse ... you need to let me know on the qt. DM me or something. That way, I can rub it in my smarty-pants daughter's nose for the next month! :-)
BTW, thanks for the big upvotes. Greatly appreciated.
I wish we had a few more "big guys" like you. Steemit's Achilles Heel is that it's not fulfilling it's Central Premise: that Content Shall Be Compensated Commiserate With Its Quality. I think Steemit would be vastly more interesting if that were true. Indeed, I think it would be irresistible. In the mid- and long-term, the whales would benefit most. They're the ones who would receive the capital gains.
And yet, even with such seemingly obvious incentive, they can't seem to coordinate their efforts to reform the system. Myopic thinking. Short-term focus. The danger is that Steemit simply gets replicated by a crypto that ensures such Central Premise. It might even be dan at EOS ... killing his own creation so that another might live.
Thanks for your attitude and insight. I'm praying it will spread.
Did you notice what terms are we constantly using in this brave new cryptoworld? We believe, hope, pray, trust, ... It's a religion!
Anyways, Steem platform is a true reflection of a society we live in. It can't be otherwise without changing the mindset we have in a real world.
OK, I remain an optimist that the attitude will change, bit by bit, step by step, post by post. The tool is irrelevant. Steem, EOS, ... it doesn't matter. What matters are we as human beings. And our interactions.
Boy, would I ever like to take you out for a beer. Technology changes ... people don't.
Steem platform is a true reflection of a society we live in.
Dead on. The good, the bad and the ugly. One of the problems, I think, with cryptos in general, is that they were started by "ideological anarchists." "Freedom ... there shall be No Rules." Without Law, there is anarchy ... chaos. Hence the reason that society has Laws. A lot of purist Steemians don't want Laws, but look at the problems their absence has created.
I wrote a poem/article in that vein (which accidentally got turned into a "Best Comments Contest" by @cryptogee. You ABSOLUTELY have to go read it ... and especially read through the Comments section. Incredible. This is what Steemit could be. I got NO SLEEP for a week. But, even with all that ... I made $1.56 (perhaps triple that if you include upvotes on comments). That should have been a $1,000 post. Tell me if you think I'm wrong.
For giggles, read this one too (this was a ton of fun ... and, as you would undoubtedly surmise, I won the Contest ... BTW, his name is "Alexander Trapp" ... for the last name, think of the "Sound of Music"):
Thanks for the links and for an invitation. We'll do it, one day ... What is your micro-location?
I will read your posts tonight and come back. I am looking forward to reading them very much.
Yes. I am very familiar with Captain Von Trapp and with the movie, of course. We have the soundtrack everywhere. In our cars' hard drives, on USB sticks, ... How did you know? :)))
Hi Luigiborla. This was a bit of humor. By all means, show the picture to everyone, specifically your children. You'll understand by reading the exchange between myself and @ervin-lemark at the top of the Comments section of this post. We had a some fun. When you "see what's actually in the picture" ... it'll blow you away. How could you have not seen it? I didn't either.
@ervin-lemark,

Anyway, now that I see the gecko ... great photo!
Thanks :) And thanks to your daughter :)))
I will certainly check your post. Of course, you are now being followed.
Ps: It's not litter but that's another story. This post is just a prelude to it.
@ervin-lemark,
Ervin ... at this point, I can't wait.

No, it's not a horse :) A much smaller guy.
As for the upvotes - it's all I can do. That's why we are here. To appreciate the quality work of other members.

I am praying this mantra for two years now :)

Ps: what differs us humans from other species?
That's it.
Have a great day, my friend.

Now go look at the Trending Page of any large Tag. Read the three with the highest payouts. Ought there really be any mystery about why Steemit has a "retention problem?"

What is is ?
It's a secret :) I have a post planned to reveal it.
@ervin-lemark,
I'm putting you on my GinaBot Alert ... I want to know!
@luigiborla,
Trust me ... you don't want to go down that rabbit hole. Just leave well enough alone. And, whatever you do ... don't show the picture to your kids!
please @quillfire explain me what you mean and why i shouldn't post the pictures of my children
