Mother of Dragons

I often struggle to fully ink a piece before working on color.
As a result, I have taken some opportunities to to limit myself to purely black and white as a way to force myself to work in a manner I am uncomfortable with. While it takes a while to get into the groove of things, I feel that it is a great way to practice and produce work under some discipline. Here is a result of one of those sessions inspired by the Game of Thrones.

How does everyone else deal with practicing things they are not comfortable with? Would love to hear some other opinions!

will you colour it??? * ___ *

Thank you so much! Line weight is a never ending learning curve isn't it?
As for color I am thinking about it but maybe further in the future!

Yesssss. Line weight is a delicate dancing partner :)

You should colour it, your colours are soooooooooooooooooooooo good, eric <3

I'm a simple man. I see GoT. I upvote.
Jokes aside, this is a very skilled drawing and I like the more "eastern" art style on Daenerys a lot!
(The Dragon's head is a little too small I think)

Thank you for the kind words and advice!

This is extremely well done! Really enjoy it quite a bit! As you get more in to Steem it would be great if you could share some process photos with us and tell us a little bit about how you get from blank canvas to finished work. Helps those of us who are not artists geta glimpse of what that sort of work is like.

Welcome!

I will keep that in mind for future uploads, thank you so much for the advice!

wow!! its beautiful...
I am mostly into shading, blending and creating values like stuff but looking at it, i realize that plane line sketches can also be amazingly beautiful....

Yes, I think artists can find beauty in almost anything ! Thank you for the kind words!

Beautifull!

Excellent lineart! 👌
I also have trouble when doing lineart digitally, since I have no drawing pad but rather have to make everything with the mouse, it can get seriously challenging at times...so have to rather use vectors but then the drawing process gets so slowed down that most of time I want to give up halfway...my other alternative is doing all the lines in traditional media and then scan it...which is what I've been doing lately with happier results hehe

Thank you!
Omg! I really admire that you can get through the process with a mouse! Agreed that doing them traditional and scanning is still pretty good - the fine tuning cleanup can be a hassle though!
