Actifit | gym, hills and randomness! April 22 2019
Don't worry Boyz, I am going to sort out this Brexit malarky and Make Britain Epic Again! 😋
Okay, maybe I am not but I look better in a skirt than most women I know 😏😂
Training today was intense, hiking up and down a bloody hill then a heavy weight/strength training session.Boom!!!💥 Check Deez gains bros (Only joking I ain't a Gym Tw@t)
Beyond that, nothing much else to report. A quiet day with it being a holiday.
CAught up on 27 e-mails (FML😢) and am trying to organize more science events in the UK.
Spoke to a random cat, kinda getting used to random cats coming up to me. Maybe they think I am their God, or they are trying to tell me something like how to prevent the end of the world? 😶😐
Cats make me smile, I am often in pain from past injuries or should I say 'life lessons' but cats make me happy, they are just wee mad creatures trying to get by in life, have their own wee cat dreams, cat fears, and desires. Just mad little creatures.😁♥
No matter how cool you think you are, you will never be as cool as skateboard cat 🏂🐈. ( pict from twitter)
So, as I am about to sign off. I wish you all a good night and a great day tomorrow!
Take care
Always nice to see a man in a kilt. I can't make out the colors though. Were you dressed up for Easter or just for fun?
Do guys in Scotland wear kilts for fun? Do ye make fun of Americans who wear kilts while visiting? Always wondered.
We run a table at a local event, the Bitterroot Celtic Games and Gathering where I teach people about creating their family trees and researching their family history. It is fun and there are so many wonderful kilts to check out. :)
I was dressed up for a meeting at Parliament. I only ever wear a kilt at weddings or formal occasions.
In Scotland, some people regularly wear kilts but it's mostly a formal thing. It depends on where they wear a kilt, if its like in a rough area then they may get some grief but most tourist areas or Edinburgh its fine.
In london, I've never had any problems with wearing a kilt.
That's wonderful, I am glad to see that you're involved with such events. I think that culture is so important, no matter where we are from it's important to at least remember our origins!
Have you ever celebrated a Burns Night or St Andrews night? I was wanting to have such an event in Turkey but I couldnt get any help from Scotland with funding, it would have been like £300 for 100 people.
Saying that, do you eat traditional foods? I like haggis but many people dont.
We enjoy Burns Nights and St Andrews dinners when we can attend them. The Haggis we have had has always been delicious, well flavored and nicely done.
It is too bad you couldn't get a dinner together while in Turkey. Would it have been for locals or folks living there from the UK?
Kilts are a bit of a thing in the Pacific Northwest region and plain ones in black and brown are commonly found at events due to their comfort. This region is the home of the Utilikilt and that style is pretty popular amongst the hikers and gamers that I know.
Cool. There's a brand of Tinned Haggis which I love. Normally I avoid tinned foods but this stuff is great!
In the Turkey the event was for locals and refugees. The area I was planning it, the Brits were 'Upper Class' They do not want to associate with a working class 'engineer' as they like to live in lala land pretending that they are something special, whilst looking down on the locals and those who werent born with a silver spoon up their arse.
The type of morons who promoted Shakespeare, via our foreign aid, instead of STEM because the locals 'lacked culture'.
As you can guess, I got a bug up my kilt with those who have such regressive views.
The class structure in the UK needs to be confined to the dustbins of history.
Ugh, Utilikilt ! UGGGGHHH. When I take over the galaxy, my first order will be the complete destruction of Utilikilt !
BTW you should go full Scottish and get yourself a Claymore and some warpaint :D
Lol... utilikilt at least got them into the American consciousness as an option. :) one of the clothing sellers we get every year at our local Sci-fi convention is Miss Haley Bombshell Boutique. They sell a black kilt made from wool suit material. It is devastating when paired with a brocade vest corset and white shirt. :)
I have a nice axe and shield set. Claymores are unwieldy without training. :)
I picked up a canned Haggis meal at the Celtic Gathering, will have to try it and see if it is any good.
Class-ism definitely sucks. The Shakespeare thing is still one of the stupidest ways to spend money that I have heard of.
