IS ONE'S PROFESSION BY ITSELF A DIVINE CALL?
I extend my greetings to your door steps, my amiable fellow steemians.
I believe you are all doing great as i am by God's grace.
'IS ONE'S PROFESSION BY ITSELF A DIVINE CALL'. This is the title of my
write up. Let's look at the Holy Bible view point on this subject.
"And unto the Jew I became as a Jew, that i might again the Jews; to them
that are under the law, as under the law, that I might again them that are
under the law... I am made all things to all men, that i might by all means
save some". 1Corinthians 9:20,22
Reasoning from the scriptures is what takes us into the greater depths of
revelation in God's word. God Himself has said "come now, and let us
reason together..." Isaiah 1:18. And concerning Paul the apostle, it was
said "And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath
days reasoned with them out of the scriptures " Acts 17:2. Reasoning is
indeed an important exercise we engage in, in our study of God's word in
order to make deductions that are consistent with truth.
And our focus is to reason from the scriptures to arrive at truth.
As believers it is very important for us to operate by accurate knowledge
in order not to lose out on our rewards. The word of God has clearly stated
that every man will be rewarded according to their works (Matthew 16:27,
Revelation 2:23, 22:12). These references to the point made go to show
how settled this truth is. Now if every man will be rewarded according to
his works then the question to ask is which types of works are been
referenced to.
Many believers have thought and said that they have been called as
Lawyers, bankers, doctors, pharmacist, politicians and the like. What they
mean by this is that God called them specially to be in those professions.
That would mean that a driver fulfills his ministry by driving people safely
to town: a tailor fulfills ministry by sewing peoples clothes on time,
a hairdresser fulfills ministry by fixing peoples hair. Now that is
interesting!
The truth of the matter is that a profession by itself is not the call and
therefore being good at what you do is not the fulfillment of a divine call.
But a profession can be the means by which you fulfill your call.
The fulfillment of a divine call comes about only after your actions or
works led to the expansions of God's kingdom by bringing men to the
saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus. That is to say, if by means of driving,
you are able to minister the gospel to the passengers you are conveying,
then you are fulfilling a call.
Likewise, a teacher who consciously seeks to make Christ known to his
students whiles teaching them also fulfills a divine call by his profession.
This is what Paul meant when he said that he has made all things to all
men, that He might by all means save some. These professions are only
the means by which we bring men to the knowledge of salvation. And it is
these works which lead men to salvation that will attract rewards at the
appearing of our Lord Jesus.
Beloved, it is not out of place to be where you are right now, you are God's
extension to those in that environment. Your duty is to use your contact
with those in your field to minister to them and bring them into the
knowledge of the kingdom. By this your profession will be the means to
the fulfillment of your call.
Thanks for your time.
Bye for now until we meet again...
