in Steem Kids & Parents26 days ago

Cordial greetings to my fellow steemians, hope you are all doing well and fine. It's been quite a while and I come here to drop my entry on this contest which says recreative review. Much appreciation to @steemkidss for organizing an interesting topic as this one.

Recreational activity are of different types and its the one you love doing which you will have passion for. Over the months i have developed a strong skill and also a hobby for drawing, this is going to sound somehow but i will say it anyway, drawing has had a profound impact on my life. Drawing is one of the most powerful tool I have and I use every bit of it. Over the years drawing has evolved from something I did for fun and pleasure to something I do to gain little money and to something that opens up a channel to my inner self. Almost every time I sit to draw in my sketchbook, what I normal draw is a direct reflection of how I am feeling in that moment.

These drawings in my sketchbook helps me learn an area of myself which I never knew had it in me to draw. It feeds on something inside of me and it allows that something to rise to the surface, giving them a voice that can never be silence in my head. My drawings and writing on this platform has allowed me to share my creativity in a way I could never imagine. Becoming vulnerable with others and sharing what's really inside of me is powerful for both me and whoever sees my art, just like the drawing of the parrot shown above which I drew and I will be sharing the steps involved in achieving this artwork.

THE PROCESS INVOLVED

When drawing a particular piece your materials should be well kept and prepared for usage and the materials I used in drawing this parrot are:

• pencil
• Eraser
• crayons and
• a piece of paper etc.

Now here are the steps,

step 1

I drew the head of the parrot with its beak, then draw a curved line extending downward which will form the body and feathers of the parrot. Keep in mind that i emphasize on the chest by making the body part wider that the rest.

step 2

Afterwards, I then drew the parrots legs with it's feathers and tail with the tree which it was climbing on. Note that I drew the length of the wings as nearly as the same length as the body of the parrot.

step 3

I then drew both left and right wings, and also draw elongated lines and shapes in the wings forming feathers and also draw the lines in some body of the parrot to make it look it has feathers.

step 4

After completing the above steps, I then added details and facial features. Adding patterns and details in your drawing are essential when drawing any type of bird, because it adds more texture and makes it look realistic. So starting from the top to the bottom i added the facial features and details.

step 5

This is the step where my parrot drawing now comes to life by adding it some colours of my choice.

Colours helps and allows the drawing to be beautiful and it brings out the colourful nature of my parrot drawing. After adding some colours to my drawing I then outlined my artwork and wrote my username on it to indicate i was the one which drew it. Here's a picture of me and my artwork.
