Pancit for Long Life!
Here is my entry for @howtostartablog's #dailyfoodphotography contest:
Pancit, or Noodles in English, is a popular dish in the Philippines with different variations such as Pancit Canton, Pancit Bihon, Pancit Malabon, Buko Pancit, Pancit Lucban, Pancit Sotanghon and etc. This dish was introduced by early Chinese settlers in the country and is very popular even today. Pancit is known as a noodle that represents long life and good health because it is commonly served during birthday celebrations. According to a food lore, pancit noodles should not be cut as that is bad luck and will not live for its symbolism.
A delicious dish that is great also for Meryenda (afternoon snack), Fiesta, Weddings, Graduation and other celebration.
