My business partner and I did a year long research-application to the subject of INTUITION because we had to teach a seminar to a capital management firm in Houston, TX.

Good points. Intuitive processing is useful, and so is rational/logical processing. Both are processing reality and have their pros and cons relative to each other.
I have done some work and learning about how they function as well:
At the base of reality is the law of non-contradiction (logic), the law of identity, and the law of excluded middles, all essentially the same thing. We can be mistaken and process reality incorrectly in either modality of processing.

As a Tarot Reader I learned to trust my intuition early on. The way it works for me is that the images on the cards serve as psychic keys bringing ideas to my mind which tend to hit the mark for the person I am doing the reading for. Of course watching a person making a sandwich can tell us a lot about a person too if we just look deeply enough and trust that inner feeling. :-)
