Would You Rather Create or Consume?
I know we have had this conversation so many times on this platform, but just out of curiosity, what would you prefer to do the most on here?
Personally I love to create, and I am struggling quite a bit with consuming as there's only so much time I can allocate to being on here since picking up a new job. Working through being engaging on my posts with the feedback that I get, but consuming others content has been a struggle lately.
Balance probably doesn't come easy for most of us, but even as we strive to do better, it's important to be true to ourselves and our preferences, if content creation isn't working out for you and prefer consuming, what kind of content do you prefer to consume. And in case of content creation, what is your fave kind of content to create as a content creator?
Personally I prefer short, direct kind of content, which is mostly inspired by my day to day life. I love to pass on information, to show new places, the food I try out or make myself, new places I have visited, or just what my thoughts for the day are. I like light, fun yet thought provoking content. I am not a fan of long blog posts, if anything I try to avoid as much of it as I can, and incase I come across something rather interesting, I mostly skim through it to the end. It only makes sense to me to create short content, just as much as I love to consume short content.
So, I ask again, Would you rather be a content creator or a content consumer? Share with me down below, I will highly appreciate. It's part of my data collection, to help me realize how and when to improve on what I do on this amazing blockchain.
I view myself as an 80% consumer and a 15% Content creator, and 5% Supporter/Endorser.
What I enjoy is pretty flexible and it changes a lot dependent of what is available to consume. I when first joining loved all the stories that were available to read, then I moved into a learning phase, and now I am just a content jumper.
Currently I am enjoying some of the spoken poetry, books, stories, and videos-vLogs. I finally have a fast enough connection that I can enjoy a couple videos a week. Photography with reasons and location I like. I love how people can share their view of their country uncensored to me. There are a lot of very beautiful places in the world. One asspect I don't enjoy to much of is the travel log post, I want the uncensored version, I don't want the perfect travel magazine shot with no trash, and all the extra stuff edited out of the picture, if there is a garbage bag, or can or cigarette butt in the picture then I know more about the area, more about the people. The sanitized would pass any government "O-kay you can publish that one" test, I really don't care about.
Small talk about life and life's little happenings. I like those post also right now. I like knowing that Pepper and Molly like bacon, that scary mary has issues, that lil-one is still growing still being a pain, a few of the pets I have run across here. Little slices of life.
I know a lot of people think blog means news, happenings, events, and pretty much anything that is not real. Real as in this is life as I see it, this is my life, this is what I think. I still remember those first bus pictures you showed us. What stays with us when we consume content is the little things, the things that people over look and feel that was not what the post was about even though they shared/showed it. It is like art, it does not matter what the artist thinks his work means, it is what it means to the viewer that is important.
Current consumption changes as life changes, as new ideas or styles are presented, will I like and enjoy what I like and enjoy six months from now, who knows, taste are pretty fickle and there is always new things coming.
I love doing both, But if I had to choose it would be Content Creation in the form of Micro blogging and medium length Dtube videos discussing a wide range of topics
i am going for both creating and consuming @elsiekjay because we cannot do just one all the time. There has to be a balance.
