Let's Cook Some Kenyan Beef Stew 😁😁

in #food7 years ago

Food prep is by far one of my fave things to do. It is even more fun when I take the time to go to the market to grab the fresh supplies needed to make the meals. It is one of my go to peace and somewhat therapeutic chores.

Yesterday I took these photos to share with a friend and thought I'd do the same with you guys. I make this beef stew probably everyweek. It's a favorite in my home and tribe if I'm being honest.

I like to put all my ingredients together prior to cooking, so it can make things easier. Some people like to cut as they go along, I do that mostly when I'm late to cook.

How do you prefer your beef? Lean or otherwise?😊

It's peas, carrots and cabbage season right now, as such, they are currently very cheap. For about $5 you can get quite a handful of them all.

Aftermath

It's a very easy dish to make. Normally you just fry the meat & peas with onions and tomatoes, let it boil for about 30 mins before adding in your potatoes, carrots and coriander. Normally just spice to your liking.

We steam the cabbage and grated carrots separately, add a dash of salt and pepper and that's just about it.

Here's how it looks in the end...

And I of course like mine with a little bit of green peppers.

Had a Cold Fanta Passion After😋

Hehehe damn, someone who knows Kenyab cuisine. Come, Ill treat you to some😋

Mmm, I want to eat your food, do you have a plate for me too ? :)

Hehhe, we can make another , oooppps😍

With pleasure Dear :) but I'll share my food with nobody be sure hehe :)

That is a very simple and easy cooking process - so no garlic I see. I am thinking that chilli and peppers is the flavour? No wonder it is an every week meal, wholesome and tasty .

You can add garlic too, we just arent big on spicies. The tomatoes and some maggi cube add alot of flavor already😁 But generally you can spice to your liking .
