Throwback to Our First Vocal Recording
Back when Omar and I were but a wee couple, we stayed up one entire night to record a cover of A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera's Say Something.
We had just started dating and only just discovered each other's voices, minds, and bodies.
We absolutely refused to settle for anything less than perfect, until we saw the sun coming up and finally decided to go with what we had. We spent another few hours putting the track together and fixing the levels, but I am proud to say that there was no use of autotune in the making of this cover. I can't have that- it would be an insult to mine and Omar's hard won talents.
Thinking back, I can see that may have pushed him quite hard. Haha...
"No, you held that note out too long," or
"Stop, stop, stop. You keep straining to hit that when you don't need to. I know you can hit that easily. Stop straining, it's causing too much tightness in your throat and face and you're getting a forced sound. Do it again.
Do it again.
Stop, do it again.
Again.
Maybe just one more time..."
And like most artists, I still look back and pick it apart and furiously judge every moment of it... but we deemed it passable and we are very proud of our work. So without further a do, I present to you...

Oh! lol Because he's all big time now, right? I put together and then take down an entire set for every video now, so doing one daily would be a lot of work.
But I'll bet you prefer his car videos, right?
Back in the day, he wouldn't allow me to watch him record a video. He was shy. lol So he would record in a lot of strange places just to ensure privacy.
I love his car videos and all the videos he made. In fact i made some car videos myself lol.

That was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! I couldn't stop smiling from the first vocal. After watching crypt0's news for the last month or so, I never would've guessed Omar had such a nice voice. Both of you really! My wife and I always tossed around the idea of doing some covers. She grew up singing and is very talented but I've always been nervous to open up and really sing. I've played instruments growing up and have a good ear but, like you said, I tend to want everything to be perfect. You guys' video has inspired me to bring up the subject again with her and see what we can put together!

Omar and I are exactly as you described, I grew up studying the voice and he played a lot of instruments, but he is also an actor, so he doesn't really mind getting out there and singing, too. I am happy to have inspired you and I bet you will find that it's a great bonding activity and lots of fun.
