Que Será, Será- Mama didn't say!

in #motivation8 years ago (edited)

"Que será, será, whatever will be will be, the future's not ours to see, que será, será." - Doris Day.

I can hear some persons singing to that wonderful song but, I have to burst your bubble, I just have to say what my que será, será is.

Growing up, mama never told me the world will be this bad and hard. She failed to mention that the wickedness of man as seen in the Bible will become real in this life. She forgot to mention that I will slave through an educational system for years only to come out with a worthless A4 sized paper good only for the name it is called, "a Certificate."

She never told me the world will become so promiscuous where immorality will become the order of the day and where those things frowned upon will be celebrated.
She didn't tell me that men will kill for money and even throw all sanity to the gutters for some material possession that always amounts to nothing.
She didn't tell me I will not be getting married to the woman I love.
She didn't tell me there will be days with rain blooded drips from the heavens and sods filled air.
She didn't tell me that hate will overtake love and love will struggle to stand.
She didn't tell me I will cry some more every other time as i move along in life.
She didn't tell me what pain truly will be and taste like.
She didn't tell me there will be days when I will wish I wasn't born.
She didn't tell me to stop believing in greatness.
She didn't tell me I will not be great.
She didn't tell me I will not fail in my endeavors.
She didn't tell me I wasn't good enough for the world.
She didn't tell me I will never fail.
She didn't tell me I will win always.
She didn't tell me the journey in life will be easy and smooth.

Lots of things she did and didn't tell me.

Looking at the way we are and how we have lived through live unknowingly and unsure of the butters and bread, we fail to grab our own "Que Será, Será."
The sing song never ended and it was a popular rhyme and dance swing of the lovey dovey girls and boys who read love stories and wrote poem with ink on pieces of papers.
The stolen kisses, the hidden blushes, the forced push when the hormones are heightened, the endless gaze into the skies those nights where the community is allowed to bask in the beauty of the night.
Stolen touches, kisses not well founded, grabs and smooches making meaningless desires hold sway against the desires we thought we never had.

I Feel Blessed!

There was this girl name Anda who whenever she sees me, she quarrels with me. She would make sure I never had any peace whenever she is around and I had no idea why she does that. Weeks, months and finally, I decided to respond and even planned to beat her up (even if mama said it was ungentlemanly to beat a girl).
"Why do you hate me so?" I asked getting revved up. "I don't hate you" she said, "it is you who doesn't like me".
Minutes of talking and trying to squash a quarrel that was designed for a romance, we became inseparable.
I was a hopeless romantic while growing up. I never waited to be found in the spots where there was trouble and held on to the dreams as created in the mind after watching those very long India movies.
Wait, did I stray? pardon, not about some puppy loved up romance but about my "Que será, será."

Mama did tell me something though, she said God loved and sent his son to die that I will be free to live the life I want.
She told me about her favorite book (the Bible) and gave me guide on how to utilize it for my daily living and exploits.
These amongst others are my "Que Será, Será."

Make the world a better place for someone today!

Well i guess mama didnt know what the future will be,hadn't been she know she would have let you know. I trust her

Your grandma didnt tell your mum she would have a leader as a son that you are today.

I am happy Mum gave you the greatest information to hold on to, she told you about the love of God.
Holding on to this has given you so much direction @ejemai.
Keep the good work Mum
And God bless you to understand more things Mama couldn't tell you

Boss @ejemai, you are a blessed writer. The write up is so creative and passing good message. I feel blessed reading your work.

Sometimes I cannot but think that the world is happy never after as against the happy ever after that I was told as a child.

Go to school
Get a degree
Work hard
And you will bee successful

To my surprise, I have done this and more and the world isn't what I pictured it to be in my fantasy world.

"Que Sera Sera." whatever will be will be.

Touching but Interesting, I never even knew it was

"Que sera sera, whatever will be will be, the future's not ours to see, que sera sera."

I always said "oh Sarah Sarah" , lol, thanks am learning each day.

Great article.

I like the post. Most of us who never stayed long enough with our mom and she wasn't there to tell us anything only that life did teach us lessons upon lessons till will were able to sing QUE SERA SERA with all our heart. No matter the circumsances we should always remember that What Will Be Will Be and there is nothing we can do other than to put our trust on God.

She told you the best thing ever, the love of God and taught you with the best book ( the Bible).
Best mama in the world who knows the best for you.
