Nigeria: The road to a revolution

I actually wrote this on my whatsapp status when I woke up this morning with a fury about the Nigerian situation. A country rich in resources but poor in leadership. A country that borrows money from China and embezzles the money. Funny thing is the same country they are borrowing and embezzling from, has a death penalty for corrupt practices.
Without stressing my head, let me start by saying:
I pledge to Nigeria my country,
To be faithful, loyal and honest,
To serve Nigeria with all my strength,
To defend her unity,
And uphold her honor and glory,
So help me God. Amen!

That was the pledge to my country because I am a patriot. I love my country not its leaders. Those who fail to learn from history are bound to repeat it. I learned a long time ago during my taekwondo training days that when you provoke people enough, they work their way up to murder if care is not taken.

Our pathetic power hungry thugs (they are not worthy of being called leaders), think they will continue like this and nothing will happen. Lol! They need to visit the case of those countries before them...

  • Egypt
  • Lybia
  • South Africa
  • Rwanda
Maybe those countries seem far, even Ghana too...

Know what they had in common? A revolution! Some did not involve death, but others did. We're getting to that point where Nigerians will just snap and at this rate, I think the peaceful revolution is already a tall dream. I know that since they won't let us dream good of our nation, we won't let them sleep in peace too.
An average Nigerian is always frustrated and angry nowadays. Before, when we mention five things about Nigeria, one or two will be good. Now, mention five and ALL will be bad.

Worse part yet? Most of our Pastors, Imams and other spiritual leaders are so neck deep in corruption that they have suddenly turned to deaf and dumb on the issue of Nigeria and the way forward. Do I care? No! I only care about saving Nigeria from these animals who won't leave the corridors of power and who won't die naturally.
Anyone who thinks Nigeria is separated along regions is clueless. We are separated along religious and ethnic lines and these parasites in the corridors of power feed off this division.

They steal and steal and give you 1% to vote for them and some will kill in their name. I shake my head, is it ten thousand naira (abour $30) bribe for your vote that will save us? Is it the open rigging and plain disregard for the rule of law that will help us? Is it tyranny in the name of democracy that is the way forward? Don't think about yourself for once, think about the children and family that you might never have.

Yes! We might never have and you know why? Because at this rate, it might simply be "too expensive" to have a family and then, able and capable men and women will have to wait for government aides (which might never come) to start a family. Look around you, the viable ones are running away, the fortunate ones have run away, the remaining ones are planning on running away. Nigeria is a disease right now and it's citizenship is a stigma. But...this disease can be cured!

We are all scared of dying and these crooks leverage on that. They use herdsmen to keep us in check, we don't see the pattern forming right? The systematic jihad going on. They use Christianity to tell us to wait for God to intervene, they tell us Islam is all about peace, yet, look at Benue and Plateau states and tell me what they have in common?
To the first question: Both are Northern states that have a strong Christian population. Yet, the herdsmen are targetting the Christian dominated areas, call me cynical or whatever but that is the truth.

Why the hell are we not hearing of attacks in states like Kaduna or Katsina? Or is it that these herdsmen are picky? To the second question, how many Christian governors have you seen from the APC? Check the core leadership and answer that too. Yet, if Christians tried this, it won't sit well with some people, but I digress a bit.
How come in Benue state, when herdsmen kill people, nothing happens, no government presence, nothing. But, when the villagers act up in self defense whenever they are attacked and they kill them back, the army goes there the next day to DISARM THE VILLAGERS. Lol.

A president that opens his disaster spewing thrash of a mouth and says we should "pray for peace" when we have security agencies that only witch-hunt political opponents and summon them at important moments. We all sit back and form e-warriors and cower in fear because of a few armed thugs! How many can the thugs kill? I am voting in 2019, I have spent hours to obtain a PVC, let them rig (as usual)but then I think it is time to fight fire with fire.

How can the army use live ammunition on students who were defenseless and kill them and nothing is happening. Those charged with the mandate of protecting us are now the ones killing the citizens. This happened in Jos and yet, nobody is saying anything. All these are happening and you say we are independent? We are slaves. People say the white man came and took us as slaves, the truth is the white man came and the black man sold his brother into slavery.

Where in the developed world does this sort of impunity and inhumane treatment go scot free? Don't wait for them to hit you at home, don't wait till it gets too personal to make it personal. Those that died never knew they were going to be victims. This is about the unborn generation that might never be born.
No matter how rich you think you are in Nigeria, eventually, you will feel the pangs of poverty sooner than you think at this rate. Inflation rate is too high, salaries are not being paid and we say it will get better. Stand up and make it better!

They are selling Nigeria in bits...Where is the ICT loan of over $300m (over 100bn naira) we collected from China? Money is gone, no ICT improvement but the debt still lingers on. The Paris club money we got that was apparently supposed to be used for the poor, what about it? The money was squandered as usual. What about our other loans this government has collected? Nothing to show for it.
We have a vice president who claims to be a pastor, in a saner clime, how would have resigned. Suddenly, he has turned a blind eye to the way of the God he claims to serve because money and power is involved.

What about those he once served under? They are more focused on debating why "you must" pay tithe to enter heaven on social media platforms instead of calling the leaders out on their bullshit.
We are more gullible to vote a leader because he is from "our side" or because we share a similar religion rather than because he is credible. Some youths will sell each other out for quick profit and kill other youths who try to stand up for the truth.

The day I visited the red and green chambers in the house of assembly in Nigeria, I realized that these people just have fun and nothing more. I love my country and I say it is time for change. Can/will this country change? The answer is yes! but these leaders can NEVER be a part of it. It rests with us.

Don't forget about SIN2

Hello brother, I can really feel the sharp pain that is going through in your mind because of our dear country Nigeria, I too is feeling the pain also because we all are wearing the same shoes. It’s painful because we’ve for a long long time now been hoping for better leaders who can manage our natural blessings that God ravished on this our dear country Nigeria.

What do we do! Keep watching and praying? Prayers we must do, and fight we must fight, fighting in love, fighting to save our dear country from bad political loop.

Like you rightly said, and I concur!

I love my country not its leaders. Those who fail to learn from history are bound to repeat it.

Thanks brother and keep the good spirit.
Happy Independence.

Yours @maxdevalue

Are we really willing to fight till the end, because the way it has always been is that once people some people are willing to fight for their country, other will collect bribes and sell them out.

Chei! It’s sad brother.

The simple truth is that President Buhari is just a bittered person
He is so full of hatred for his opponent
Yar'Adua was a Muslim and Fulani just like PMB yet, he was loved.
Buhari doesn't replace Ministers who left or resigned with counterparts from their states but rather, uses Northern Muslims to replace them.
Kemi Adeosun hails from Ogun but was replaced with a Northerner
PMB pays deaf ears to the killings in Plateau, Benue and Taraba. These are all Christian states.
Heroic act done would have been a combatative search for Leah
I hate my leaders but love my country

At the end of the day, two thosuand naira and we will be stuck with them for the next four years.

@ehiboss you said it all! The situation is pathetic but yes, it can change and a revolution does seem imminent. I also will vote in 2019 regardless of their crazy rigging. I went through hell to get my pvc last month for that very purpose. No more sitting on the sidelines! Happy Independence Day

Welcome to the club, I hope you go through with your plans eventually.

I most definitely will...

What a country!

I say enough is enough...

Don't say...just do it!
