Depression And Suicide: A wider view
The alarming rate of depression in recent time has madee realize that, people will go to any lengths to find peace of mind.
Here comes a great question: is it ever okay to kill yourself?
While the reasons for killing oneself may seem justifiable, we need to ask the more obvious question, what is the individual's motive for committing suicide?
Sometimes, all it takes is for the person to realize that it's all just a phase and it'll pass away and the person will realize that suicide is NEVER the answer.
There was a time I contemplated suicide, I eventually realized now that that would have been the greatest mistake of my life.
So many people just couldn't wait for time to actually heal all wounds.
I know it's not easy and I'm not writing from an abstract point of view, I write from an experienced angle. Some people committed suicide because a partner left them, but they didn't realize that some time back, they had no idea that they were going to meet that person and truth is they probably met someone before and will meet someone better later on if they hang on.
Some commit suicide because of work related issues, financial crisis, marital issues etc...
With time, everything goes away. I heard of some people who committed suicide because they were depressed over not owning an iphone 5 or a car. With time, those things passed away and now there are better ones.
Depression can be bitchy at times (pardon my language), it makes you feel like a hopeless person and blinds you to the actual reality of two sides. At that point, you're almost convinced that there's just one side to the tale, one way how it all ends. Meanwhile, it blinds you to a whole new world out there for you to see.
The thing with depression and suicide is like playing a video game. You don't abandon the game because a level seems hard as a real gamer, instead you try until you get it and you'll realize that the previous level becomes easier with each try.
Nobody ever said life was going to be easy, however, be prepared to smile if you don't quit.
Remember that as tough as you view life, someone somewhere is still fighting for life.
It can only get better in the end. Each person has a timeline to make history, do not use the timeline of others to judge yourself.

Biggest problem is that depression leads to an “alt reality”, much like getting stuck in quick sand.
Without realizing people end up always deeper because their own perspective has been twisted and their compass is disoriented. It’s a very dark place to be be.
And a dangerous one too.

Exactly, but if they can realize that that "reality" will pass, they'll choose to live instead of die.
