A day in the life of a gearhead. Big dreams.
As with most gearheads cars are all consuming of me. I can't get enough of them, I have a love-hate relationship with them. Cars are my career and my hobby, and my dreams are filled with building and racing cars.
For the time being raising three children and providing the only income (because we chose to have my wife be a stay at home mom) my dreams are on hold. But I can help others realize their dreams.
Here are some pictures of what I've done at work recently.
These 2 we're in at the same time for minor issues. It made for some good pictures.
This one needs the cylinder head gaskets replaced. The engine needs to be removed to do the repair. Hopefully I'll have a hoist freed up soon to do it.
It's not all hot rods and muscle cars. Something went wrong in this mini van engine and wrecked the cylinder. Replacing the engine with a used one was cheaper than fixing the original.
Heres a plugged cabin air filter with a new one.
This differential has seen some abuse! The clutches are worn to nothing and there is some metal transfer on the side gear.
Uh oh, no reverse! We had to replace the transmission in this pick-up truck.
The smell was terrible around the van.
And finally, here is my latest project at work 1970 Mustang fastback. We do everything except for the body work and paint. Only the roof, inner doors and some of the structure are original.
Fuel injected 427 smallblock.
I'm installing a number of modern features to the car that require some tedious wiring. This is the part I love doing.
Still need to build fuel lines.
Soon I can build my own machine. I hope...

Nice Mustangs! My first love was a 65 Shelby GT350, and you never forget your first love. I am currently restoring an 87 Silverado, its a slow project, but I put money into it when I can. I have my eye on a 66 Impala, but that's a future plan, once other finances are squared away.
Sweet! Keep us posted on the projects.
Today I started a brake job on a '80 chev pickup. And hopefully before winter I'm going to piece another one together for my brother to use around the farm.
Will do! I enjoy working on old cars, but they can get expensive and very time consuming.
That Stang is smokin man. My uncle part of Pistons down here and runs classics all over. Last one he picked up was a CJ5 '55. Was pimp.
Those early jeeps are super fun.
Awesomepost would love the see that Mustand Fastback when all done
Will do man.
Great 👍👍👍
Those mustangs look awesome together. Looking forward to seeing updates and progress reports when you start on your own project!
Good, I need the motivation.
