KOTO - a UK designers collective living more than a decade in Norway - developed a beautiful off-the-shelf modular house concept with a minimalistic design approach whilst perfectly fitted in many different landscapes including nature.
...and it is Energy Neutral!
KOTO's words...
KOTO are challenging how we think about buildings in the landscape from every angle, from construction to how they are used and the environmental impact at every step along the way. We have created an ‘off the shelf’ housing solution, that addresses the demands of our changing mindsets towards house buying.

They are a sculptural interpretation of the small buildings that you see across Europe, from Bothys to Alpine huts and Norwegian Hytte. These small pitched roof buildings are an integral part of the landscape and provide warmth, shelter and an opportunity to fully immerse in nature. That is the heart of the ethos at KOTO.

Sounds pretty cool. I love the whole tiny house idea. I'd love to have a tiny home on some land in a forest. That would be my dream. I like the energy neutral idea as well. I'm all about sustainability. Well... I'm not great at it at the moment though. I guess it's more of an aspiration.

Thanks :) One of the few modular house concepts I really like. And the cool thing is, one can start small and increase with additional parts, when wanted. Similar to you, I would definitely like to live close, or better, in nature somewhere; However this will probably in a decade or more. I suspect we will see a great number of new way of building houses between now and then, and looking very much forward to all the latest and greatest.
